Breech birth

Hi ladies,

We just got back from the midwife and had the growth and position scan (36 weeks). It turns out our baby is in a breech position, and they’re going to try to turn it tomorrow. If that doesn’t work, I’ll need to think about whether to go for a breech birth or a C-section. I’ve been reading a lot about women who chose a C-section, but not much about those who opted for a breech birth. Are there any women here with experience having a breech birth? Both positive and negative stories are welcome, as I’d like to get as clear a picture as possible before deciding which route to take.

Spun around at 36 weeks and 4 days with a successful version
And gave birth spontaneously at 38 weeks and 6 days

A friend of mine gave birth to a baby that was in a breech position. They didn't know beforehand (it was felt incorrectly), so she didn't have much of a choice. But actually, the delivery went super well. Not only was it quick for a first baby, but there were no tears or other crazy complications. So it can definitely go well

I personally wouldn't dare to do it, but that's more about my personal fear of giving birth (and I tend to avoid anything that might be more difficult than average) than it being impossible or anything like that.

7 years ago I gave birth to my son. He was in a breech position. I couldn't have him turned because of my blood type (O negative). The birth was much more difficult, and my son was born with a very bruised bottom. If I could do it over, I would have chosen a C-section. I also felt really sore down there afterward. After 3 weeks, it felt pretty okay again.
