Hi,
Does anyone have tips for childbirth?
Maybe a nice position to cope with the contractions?
I'd love to hear from you.
Greetings x

Bath went well, how far along are you now?

My due date was July 1st.

With the first one, I found it comfortable to sit on the toilet for the first few centimeters. With the second, I also lay in the bath with a warm shower stream on my belly. I’ve also heard good things about those Pilates balls you can sit on. One tip: if you get leg contractions, your partner can apply pressure to your legs (some even let their partner sit on their legs) because this reduces the pain a lot. If you have back contractions, have your partner push their fists into your back, and for abdominal contractions, breathe well from your belly. Good luck!!!!

    Beenweeen??
    Rugweeen??
    Buikweeen??
    Never heard of those before..
Looks like I still have a lot to learn!! And I've already read 3 books completely!

    Thanks for the tips!
Hope I can use them soon.
    Greetings!

Oh, I've never heard of those contractions either. So there's still a lot ahead of us. I hope it all turns out to be manageable and that we just get normal contractions. Haha, Olivia-Anna, this shows once again what a forum is good for.
    Greetings, Liena

Haha yes Liena, I'm learning so much here!!
From my friends here I only get the negative stories instead of good advice, and then I'd rather change the subject..
I'm looking at it very positively myself and don't want anyone to take that away from me..
But I would still like to know what varicose veins are..

Braces are actually the worst contractions because you can't sigh them away and your legs sometimes start trembling. Counter-pressure from your partner can really work wonders (e.g., massage). Good luck, ladies!!!!

So something like muscle twitches?.. (after you get a cramp in a muscle)
  10. liena #11

Oh geez, not exactly something you're looking forward to, right. Cramps are also like that, I have a lot of them in the mornings. But yeah, just a little more patience here and then I'll know which contractions are waiting for me. It's getting all exciting here because everyone is waiting to see which day he'll come. My dad is due on the 17th and my sister's little girl is due on the 16th this month. They think he'll probably show up somewhere around those days, hahaha. It would actually be pretty funny if he came on the 15th or the 18th.

    That's nice!!
I still have to do a bit longer..
For my boyfriend (who is just as happy as I am, he had to cry at the first ultrasound!!)
it's all going a bit fast now.
    Almost halfway!!
"can't you start all over again?"
Yesterday at the store I didn't get the chance to sniff around...he thought the paint for the baby's room was enough for now! Haha
I wanted to get a pregnancy bell!!!
He gets really nervous at the idea that we can finally start buying stuff. It's not his first time though. Just with me..
But it was a while ago for him..
Haha that birth I can already see it in my mind!!!
  12. liena #13

hahaha my husband is just like that too. I would have bought everything from the first day I knew I was pregnant. but on the other hand, because we've been through quite a bit already, I had to bite the bullet and put it all off for a while. we bought the baby's room furniture when I was 20 weeks. the travel system and his bath were bought in may, when I was 30 weeks. two weeks ago my husband said we really needed to buy the baby care products because he didn't fancy having to buy everything on the day of birth on his own. we picked up clothes here and there whenever we saw something nice. but now with the sales in belgium, i just can't resist and end up buying nothing for our little boy. everything looks so cute. last week i popped into mexx and told my husband i was just going to LOOK at the baby clothes. hahaha that "looking" cost us another two jumpers. my husband is really going crazy.

I can imagine it was hard to wait before buying.
Yes, here in Spain there are sales everywhere!!
    Well, we didn't get far:
"Honey, let's just wait until you're pregnant" (He was already dressing up the little girls of friends)
"Yes, but wait at least until you're 3 months pregnant, okay."
And now it's: "Uh... don't get so worked up (He does that, hormones!!!) we'll find everything in time!"
We had agreed to keep it as cheap as possible by looking for second-hand items early on. But now nothing comes of it!!
He's really the type to wait until the baby is born and then complain that we have to buy everything new..
Tomorrow we're going (finally) to a market for the first time, with a friend and her husband:
The guys can enjoy a nice beer, and the ladies can browse comfortably!!
  14. liena #15

haha. better yes let the men enjoy themselves on the terrace.
well nice to say so in Spain. recently on TV here they said that the prices are a lot lower than here for brands. so bargain shopping I would like
we bought our baby room via speurders.nl for a solid rock little paid. 200 euro cost that, looked still like new. so thought why not. if you look at babydump for such cheap material you pay already quickly 700 to 1000 euro :s
the crib and baby bath I bought new in a store where they buy leftovers from shops or bankruptcies was spot cheap and were still of the brand pericles. I paid 85 euro for the crib and 120 euro for the bath.
does not exist in Spain such search pages? otherwise you can also sniff around there

It's true that there are almost as many flea markets (second-hand markets) here as regular markets.
    So almost daily!!
Well, I'm just so bad at online shopping!!
But yesterday I did find a place where I can get special paper and accessories to make my own birth announcements! That's really nice. I'll see if I can manage that,
and yeah, I can definitely look for it,
good tip. I hadn't really thought of that.
The only thing I absolutely!!! want is a hanging cradle (like the ones used by Native Americans in the past).
I'm not really into brands myself,
luckily our friends are, and I get everything their kids have outgrown from them

    hey,
i'm already 6 weeks postpartum and i had back labor. what helped me was my boyfriend massaging my back and applying pressure to it! that's how i got through the contractions. i'd say don't overthink it too much! and if needed, look for a physio who can teach you those exercises, i did that too and it really helped!

    cheers

    Hey Olivia-Anna!

Ooh, a hanging bassinet is indeed really nice. But isn't that more for the living room? At least, I'd hang it there, I think. By the way, I'm not really going name-brand shopping either. I just take what I like. It came from Zeeman anyway, but I found the bath (washbasin) very handy and the box was practically free, so I took it along haha. It was just a coincidence that it was that brand.

By the way, how did it go sniffing around with your friend? Did you find something nice?
