It does play a role that I actually came with the name for the second child. He didn't really like it because it's his sister's name and he found that a bit unpleasant. Not original enough since she's his sister, after all. But in the end, he did accept the name I wanted. So he had already wanted Luna for the second child, but I didn't think Luna was ugly or anything back then. I just preferred his sister's name. I thought it was more beautiful, so that's why I really wanted that one. And that's what it ended up being. But anyway, now that I'm pregnant with the third, he hasn't forgotten the name Luna. So yeah, that's basically how it is. Somewhere inside, I also feel a bit guilty because I'm choosing again while he thinks Luna is so beautiful. That's kind of the dilemma. Thanks a lot for your help anyway

In that case, I’d definitely try to meet your husband halfway, and maybe combine it with another name. Or just wait a bit longer—you’ve still got time, and who knows, another name might come along that you both fully support. -

I agree it's a bit of a bummer for your boyfriend... I also think you should let him have a say this time. This is already the third one, so it's his turn now. He already let you have your way even though he didn't want the name for his sister! And you still did it anyway... Pretty unfair to your boyfriend! I'd never pick a name my husband doesn't want... But okay, not my life haha. -

That's so funny! 100% Jasmijn because that's my name... and our neighbor's dog is named Luna.
And I know more people who have dogs named Luna! -

Pien, I do think you're right, it's wise to wait until we find something that gives us both that "wow" feeling.
He has that with Luna. I think it's a nice name, but it doesn't touch my heart.
It's enough to give it to my daughter.
D, you're allowed to think that, it's your opinion.
Jasmijn, that's definitely funny what you wrote.
Well, I think Jasmijn is beautiful, but I won't force it on my husband.
I'll wait this time to see if he changes his mind and wants Jasmijn after all.
Or we'll keep looking for a name that touches both his heart and mine. -

Anonymous, you can figure all that out yourself.
I still have until March, and even though it might not seem like it, these opinions have helped me.
And selfish, well, I guess that's how it comes across to you. I won't go further into that.
They say nothing is more changeable than a human being. And in the end, I'll still come to a good choice with him, I'm sure of that.
I'll let it rest for now until after the new year.
We'll figure it out. -

I think it's seen as selfish by everyone, but only the anonymous one is the one who says it's rude. -

Haha OK, maybe a bit blunt.. But thanks for confirming that I'm not the only one who finds it selfish.
I appreciate your honesty, Lieseling, super! -

I see her going back and forth, but in my opinion, it boils down to yes, she wants her own way. This is already the third daughter where my husband clearly wants Luna. Against his wishes, she chose a name he didn't want back then. And now she says she's "hesitating" between Luna and Jasmijn. Honestly, she's just looking for confirmation to once again not choose Luna... Claiming now that they want to come to a name they both like. But you were hesitating between Luna and Jasmijn, so you already liked Luna, didn't you? And now suddenly it's not good enough to meet your husband halfway, just like he always meets you halfway? Yeah, call me blunt then. I think it's unfair and even selfish towards your husband. Pathetic for him, really. With the third daughter! I'd like to grant my husband that. It's his child too... Pathetic that you pushed through your sister's name against his wishes and now you won't give him Luna either. -

As I read all this, I'm so glad that my partner and I found a name we both really love. Seems hard to compromise on something so important. But yeah, if you can't decide... -

As far as I'm concerned, the way the questioner and her partner come to their name choice is something between the two of them. -

Oh, I totally agree with you, Hummel. But as you can see, the questioner chose to ask here.
So you get an answer too. -

Yes, the name, that's correct. But I mean, how do they come to their choice?

Guys, guys, don't get so worked up about it
Just to clarify, my husband and I will figure it out somehow.
He doesn't stress about it as much as some people here do.
As things stand now, we're going to come to a nice, good decision
It's just a question, lovely people.
Please think about what you really want.
Our lives will go on, you know.
It would be nice if I could show this to my daughter later when she's older.
I'm sure she'll find it funny, I think
Thanks anyway, everyone.
And Liesseling, thank you—it's true that what comes from anonymous sources tends to be blunt.
But AG, maybe that's just how anonymous expresses their opinion.
I appreciate your honesty.
And those blunt remarks don't bother me at all.
I'm so incredibly happy with my little girl in my belly—that's all that matters to me. -

Thanks Tessy, still for your opinion
I'll definitely do that, Hummel.
I'll let you know what her name ends up being once my girl is born
