    Lemia Linda.

So you think Luna fits Yara better than Jasmijn?
  3. Linda #23

Yeah, I like that better together.
  4. madelene started this #24

    Okay, thanks for your reply
And what about my second daughter's name?
I thought I'd ask since you mentioned it fits well with my first daughter's name.
    Greetings, Madelene
  5. Linda #25

For the name of your second daughter, I think both Luna and Jasmijn sound beautiful
  6. madelene started this #26

Yeah, I was thinking something like that. I personally think Jasmijn and the name of my second daughter both sound soft. And Yara feels smoother and stronger, just like Luna. Okay, clear now. I'll have to think about it for a bit For my husband, Luna remains his favorite. So that's going to be a bit of a challenge

Luna! Nice and short, and a beautiful meaning too.
  8. Anonymous Guest #28

I often think of a dog when I hear Luna (sorry????). I don't find it a strong name.
Jasmijn I think is cool, especially with Yara!

Thanks anon and Fenne for your honest opinions.
Anon, I really appreciate your honesty.
    I personally like Jasmijn.
    My husband likes Luna.
I think I’ll stick with Jasmijn after all.
But I hope he’ll go for Jasmijn too and get Luna out of his head.
Luckily, I still have some time until March.
But I’m afraid of disappointing him, since he thinks Luna is so beautiful.
    Greetings, Madelene

As I read all this here, you just want to hear that people choose Jasmijn . You've already said that you want to name her Jasmijn, and I think you're not really open to Luna for that reason. I think you're secretly looking for confirmation of your choice here. So it feels less guilty towards your husband who really wants Luna. From how I read this, your mind is already set on Jasmijn, girl, so I'd just go with Jasmijn
  11. mama2013 #31

Honestly, if my husband doesn't like the name and vice versa, or if he doesn't feel it's the right name, we'll keep looking until we find a name that feels right for us both. That's exactly what we've done now. It's not just my child, it's also the father's.
  12. rana Guest #32

Totally agree with mama2013! She "hesitates" between Luna and Jasmijn, so if you hesitate, it means you think Luna is pretty, and the dad likes it too, so I'd go for Luna together. But as mentioned above, I think she's already chosen Jasmijn. Not nice for the dad. Then look for another name, not Luna or Jasmijn, where you both think it's a great name. As mama2013 says, the girl is yours TOGETHER.

Ladies, you've really confirmed my feelings. I do really want Jasmijn. But I don't think his choice of Luna is bad either. So maybe I'll want Luna after all. But he also thinks Jasmijn isn't ugly, well...
Okay. Only his heart lies more with Luna.
It's true that he wanted to name the youngest Luna. Only I thought another name was prettier. He was going to go with it but then got cold feet. He actually wanted Luna for the second one. And now he sees it as another chance to name this third child Luna. Maybe I'll go with Luna then?
    Luna Jasmijn for example.
Thanks a lot for thinking along with me, girls
    Really very sweet
  14. Linda #34

I think Luna Jasmijn is a beautiful combination! I'd go for that!
  15. Anonymous Guest #35

Haha, I said that right at the start anyway, why not Luna Jasmijn. Beautiful combo and also very sweet towards your man, so he gets to have a say for the third time at last Love is..sharing together he
  16. Emily Guest #36

I’d also go for Luna Jasmijn! Beautiful combo. I think Luna sounds better with the other names than Jasmijn does. I find Jasmijn a bit too Dutch-sounding. Good luck with this (tough) choice!
  17. madelene started this #37

Yeah, anonymous would be sweet of me, right? Like letting him choose for once, haha.
And it's not that I think Luna is ugly, so it's not a big deal either.
That's why I'm thinking about this combo
    Emily, then my girl
But just a quick question for you:
What do you mean by "too Dutch" Jasmine?
  18. Emily Guest #38

In my opinion, Jasmijn is a name you mostly hear in the Netherlands.
  19. madelene started this #39

Yeah, I get it, Emely. You mean because my husband is of foreign origin?
He says they call the name Jasmijn there.
So it's Jasmine, so it could work.
    He'd call her Jasmijn here,
and his family would call her Jasmine.
But as I already mentioned, he thinks Luna is such a lovely name, much nicer than Jasmijn or Jasmine. So yeah, I guess we'd go with Luna Jasmijn then.
That's what I'm thinking now. I'll see if he spontaneously changes his mind
    Otherwise, that order stays.

Luna is a dog name to me, and I think Jasmijn is so tuttig. But still, Jasmijn it is. Thank goodness tastes differ! Good luck with the choice.
