Forum Pregnant and working

Insane dilemma!

Hi everyone,

My partner and I have been wanting to have a baby for a while now. I work with a colleague who has been trying for about 3 years and is already over 30. I'm 26. I know how much she wants to get pregnant, even though she's already had a miscarriage.

We haven't been trying for very long, but getting pregnant isn't always straightforward. Who knows, we might also take a long time.

I feel incredibly guilty and don't know whether I should wait for her or not. I'm also worried that we might get pregnant at the same time, and that I could lose my job.

It's a really weird situation, but of course I can't discuss this with people I know.

Does anyone have advice for me?

Best, Chayenn

    Hi there

I'm someone who doesn't just get pregnant easily, and even though it's hard seeing a colleague get pregnant, I'm NOT waiting.
She can get extremely sad from high up, but she'll probably be sober enough not to take it the wrong way.

And why can't you discuss it with someone? Personally, I've never hidden our desire for children and it really lifts your spirits!! Just talk about it once with a friend/sister/mother.

Good luck and hopefully you'll be pregnant soon.

    Thanks for your reply.

I don't want to upset her and I'm really afraid that she'll feel more pressure because of it.

Should I discuss something like this with my employer?

It's all so difficult. I think I'll wait until November to start; maybe there will be new developments by then.

Is it okay (I'm still using the NuvaRing) to start taking folic acid before I stop using it?

Why would you wait? It's your life, and if things aren't easy for you either...
You shouldn't sacrifice your own happiness for someone else.

Folic acid is just a vitamin, so you can just start taking it.
