So unsure

Hi everyone,

I need to get this off my chest. I'm feeling so unsure and would love to know what others here think.

Two weeks ago, I had my expected period date. On that day, I took a test and it was super negative. The next day, my bleeding started, but it was lighter and shorter than usual.

A week later, I suddenly got brown discharge and decided to take another test. This one was faintly positive. I couldn't believe I was actually pregnant, so I took tests almost every day. They were all clearly positive.

I called the midwife, but I can't get an ultrasound until September 10th. In the meantime, I'm so unsure if everything is okay. I've had brown mucus discharge all day for almost a week now, and I'm feeling crampy in my stomach. I'm also getting nauseous in waves. Ugh, the uncertainty is driving me crazy.

What do you all think? Am I pregnant, or did I miscarry two weeks ago...

    Hi there,

If I were you, I’d definitely go to the doctor. I don’t think you’ve had a miscarriage yet, because then you’d probably have clots of blood, and I think you would have noticed that yourself. The doctor can refer you to the hospital to get a blood test so they can measure your hCG levels. I had a similar experience when I had brownish bleeding. I wouldn’t wait until September, but go to the doctor right away for your own peace of mind! I know exactly how it feels; I’m dealing with that uncertainty myself too. Positive test but brownish bleeding. I went on Friday and have to go back on Monday. . This might also be related to my past. I had a miscarriage with a curettage in 2012 and an ectopic pregnancy last year. The gynecologist did say it could also be due to implantation. Maybe that could be the case for you too. Nothing was visible on the ultrasound, but you should still go to the doctor and see what they say.

    Best wishes

Sorry, my previous message got sent all of a sudden hihi.

I'll continue from the last point.
On the ultrasound, nothing was visible yet; I'd only be 4-5 weeks along by the time blood tests would show anything.
But you should still pop by the GP for yourself, and I think they'd want to do an ultrasound and blood test earlier than September, especially for your stomach issues. With me, they said I had to come back immediately if I got severe stomach pain.
It's mainly for your peace of mind though.
    Hope this helps you out.
Have a nice evening and take it easy!
    Greetings, Melissa
