1st trimester
No embryo visible, who else had this?

Hi,
Unplanned but very much wanted pregnancy. But because it was unplanned, I didn't know 1. when my last period was (I had an IUD for 5 years, so I had to get used to having periods again anyway) and 2. I hadn't taken it into account in my lifestyle, so I did have a drink here and there.
Because of the latter, I was a bit worried, so I took the initiative to get an ultrasound. Before the ultrasound with the midwife, we thought about when my last period might have been, and we figured it should be around week 7.
Once at the ultrasound, it turned out to be 4 (and a bit) weeks (which could also be completely correct). The pregnancy was visible, but no embryo. Normally it should have been like that, she said, and she already started talking about miscarriages, ectopic pregnancy, etc., etc. It's good that she's honest and thorough, but as you can imagine, this doesn't do much for my peace of mind.
My own midwife was luckily much more relaxed, but I'm also curious about your experiences. Maybe I'm asking for what I want to hear, but I still have 1.5 weeks until the next ultrasound, and I could use all the hope I can get.
Thanks!
