2nd trimester
setting up a pregnancy course
Hi,
I still have to give birth, but I have to say that I keep hearing from friends that they had huge problems with their partners during pregnancy and childbirth.
And I keep hearing this too: "Just wait, it'll change for you too!"
I don't have that problem at all; we're growing closer to each other.
But for one friend, it was so sad: Her partner went on vacation (alone!!) every three months because he didn't know how to deal with it.
And the actual birth!!? She was panting like crazy, and he let in one "old acquaintance" after another! Even people she didn't even know!! As a result:
A depression for months! And now they hate each other!
Make sure there's a part where the partner gets involved!
-Teach your pregnant wife how to massage,
-Learn to listen to the heartbeat together (with a doppler) and feel it.
-A support group maybe, specifically to include men!
So they can express their feelings too.
How to reduce stress together: Tea, bathing together, naming names..
That sounds really nice to me.
I think it's important for a woman to realize that a man
also goes through an emotional rollercoaster when a baby is on the way.
And that a man learns that the tears, the weight, and the outbursts are just part of it for some!!
I wish everyone got such good support as I did.
The baby is already "ours" and so is the responsibility!
It's supposed to bring you closer together.
Lots of success with it!!
