Yellow-green mucus discharge

Hi there,

I'm 13 weeks pregnant and have had occasional yellow-green mucus discharge for a few weeks now. I've mentioned this several times to my GP, but he said it couldn't be harmful since I don't have itching, it's not red, and it doesn't hurt... Today I went back to the doctor (a different one), and it turns out I have a bladder infection. She also took a swab, so I haven't got the results yet, but she said it didn't look red inside at all. I've been reading online that with a vaginal infection you need to act quickly, and I'm totally panicking because I've been dealing with this discharge for a while now. Should I be worried? Hopefully, someone here can give me an answer.

Lots of love,

Oh my, what a story... It's good that you got a second opinion. If I were you, I'd definitely let the GP know about the bladder infection—they can give you further advice... Don't wait too long because I had a bladder infection with my second baby too, and I carried on until it turned into a kidney infection, and ended up in hospital. So, if I were you, I'd get in touch right away... izzy:

    Hey Izzy,

I got antibiotics (amoxicillin) for my bladder infection. I'm also starting to use Gyno-Daktarin now. Hopefully, this will get rid of the green mucus discharge, or I hope it just means nothing at all.

Good job, girl, and keep an eye on yourself if you don't trust it. Go ahead and call them up...

As long as you don't get hard contractions due to your bladder infection/infection, it's not too bad not to get treated right away. Hard contractions can turn into labor contractions, and a neglected bladder infection can spread to your kidneys (pelvis). Good luck and get well soon!

Hard contractions at 13 weeks? How do I recognize them? My belly is always hard before the moment. I can feel my uterus well. I'm already on antibiotics and Gynodactarin. I also just listened with the Doppler and heard the heartbeat again.

Izzy: I'll definitely do it!! I feel so misunderstood and angry right now. You go to the doctor three times only to be told it's probably nothing serious, and now this. I'm going crazy reading all the stories online.

    Hey girls,

Being angry doesn't help. I understand that you feel misunderstood, but as you already wrote, you got a second opinion and it doesn't seem like you're the type to be brushed off...
And as you can see, by being on this forum, you also get responses from women who can share their experiences with you.
Don't read too many crazy things on the internet, because then you might go crazy from all the things you do and don't have...
Don't make your heart a pit of despair, just let it out. Maybe you have a mother, a mother-in-law, or a husband where you can open up, or just a good friend...

    So stay strong!

    Greetings and love

Thanks for your message. My mom says I'm overreacting and that it's not a big deal. My sister says the same thing, but if I had listened to them, I still wouldn't have known I had a bladder infection. They say the stomach pain I have is from the bladder infection and that I should just take the antibiotics properly. I just hope I'm not too late with everything. I should probably stay off the internet indeed. Let's hope everything turns out okay.

    Greetings

Hi, you're not exaggerating at all. Just because it's not too harmful in many cases doesn't mean you shouldn't respond appropriately.

So it's super good that you got a second opinion, and your GP should really scratch their head over this.

    Hey zebra,

I feel the same way. After all, it’s about my baby and I feel what I feel. I’m pretty worried anyway, but that doesn’t mean I’m making things up, okay. My GP won’t be seeing me again. I really don’t think this is okay.

Thanks, girls, for all your replies!!
