1st trimester
Christmas
Hey Linda,
You're definitely on top of this with these temperatures
but that also says you're really dealing with it... too much worrying and stressing is not good for you right now, so try to let it go a bit too. Your boyfriend probably doesn't see the problem (yet), precisely because it's still so far away. Once you're further along, he'll be more and more involved with it, and your proposal will sound much more logical to him (like not going for a year, for example). Is this your first baby? Because then everything is completely new. My boyfriend is also much more involved now than when I was 12 weeks... because now he sees my belly growing and feels the little one move... it all becomes much more real for him too.
And who knows, you might change your mind in the meantime. I wouldn't worry too much about it right now. Your mother-in-law might not find it cozy, but she'll surely understand that it's a bit too much for you around 37 weeks. It's just that now it's all still not so "real" and your belly isn't so huge yet, and they might think "oh girl... what's the problem?"
I have a similar issue myself... my parents are also set on this and are already looking forward to celebrating New Year's with the whole family (including staying over, indeed). My little one will be 3 months old then, and I'm starting work again in January... I've already indicated that I'd love it all, but I really want to check around that time if it works for me
I'm also sure my mother will be disappointed, but try to remind yourself that in these cases you should think of yourself too
Hope this helps a bit... I don't think you're unreasonable at all, and I actually understand you perfectly! I'd just suggest letting it go for now and bringing it up again when it's a bit closer (Christmas) and when you're more visibly pregnant (and I mean for your boyfriend). For example, I now have complaints that I didn't have at 12 weeks. And I'm nowhere near 37 weeks!! So maybe it won't work out anyway then?
Enjoy it, girl! It'll all work out
