Are there any people who got pregnant quickly after stopping the pill?

Iza
I took the pill myself for over 7 years (stopped at 22), I stopped then in December (already about 6 years ago now) and in May made my first attempt to get pregnant and got pregnant right away!

    Hi Iza,

Thanks for your message. I'm 23 weeks and just don't feel well at all, I'm really tired too. After I've eaten something, it doesn't sit right in my stomach, I feel a bit nauseous, but it comes in waves. So you stopped the pill in December, I understand that you've already had the withdrawal bleed ;-) Marja, they say every body is different hehe ;-) Constipation also happens during pregnancy, but I've had it my whole life.. My stomach is constantly bloated, especially around my bladder. We're just waiting it out, I can't imagine it all happening so fast haha

I got pregnant while taking the pill. I was really sick once and it was instant.

Hey girl! Yes, that's totally possible. I got pregnant right after I stopped the pill. My ovulation was later than I thought, but it really worked out! If I were you, I'd test as soon as you can and hope for the best!!

    Thanks!

Do I understand correctly that you can test 4 days before your expected period? I feel better now than yesterday morning. Yesterday evening I had so much back pain and that annoying feeling low in the belly, and my nipples are starting to feel sensitive now too. Sunday it felt exactly like period pain—back and belly. My boyfriend is already looking forward to it! Haha I keep saying let's wait and see, it could be a hit, but it could also be the withdrawal from the pill.

Stopped in December (after 15 years of consistent pill use), haven't had a period since and now 26 weeks along :-)
    So yes, it's possible!
    Good luck

I got pregnant pretty quickly too! After taking the pill for 14 years, I stopped in mid-March. I had two normal periods in a regular cycle, and then I found out I was pregnant
So yes, it can definitely happen pretty quickly!

Yes, it can happen because I stopped the pill 2 months ago and I'm already 14 days late. I'm having an ultrasound in 2 weeks since all my pregnancy tests are coming up negative. Yes, there is a possibility to test before your period, but after it, you're more certain.

I was on the pill for about 17 years, with a few months off here and there, but basically from age 14. I had just stopped and my periods were very irregular, so I didn't track my ovulation or anything. Got pregnant on the second try! And I'm 31!
The Action tests are super cheap and you can use them 4 days before your expected period. Good luck!

Been on the pill since I was 16... stopped just before turning 27... and by 3 months I was pregnant... now 10 weeks already!
My boyfriend is 4 years younger... maybe young sperm helps too haha

Just to clarify, I had irregular periods. I did track it in the WomenLog app, but only to keep track of my cycle so I knew when to change my tampon, haha! I didn't track ovulation or anything like that.

Haha, my boyfriend is also 2 years younger! Is that the secret?
  12. Bloempje85 #13

Haha, really? ;-) Mine is 2 years older...so that trick won't work on me!

    Hi,

I should be getting my period again now. My last period was on June 2nd, so it was due to come back on June 30th. I haven't gotten it yet, but I heard that if you've just stopped taking the pill, your period can be a week late. So I'm assuming that's what's happening. Haha, it's quite nerve-wracking though! My breasts are sore and a bit bigger than usual, and my nipples are sensitive—some days are worse than others. Well, it could just be hormones... I'll wait a bit longer (it's a shame I'll probably have to throw away another test with a negative result, hahaha).

The ones from Action are €1.25 each or something like that! Would try it out, you know, just so you know exactly where you stand right away! Exciting though!

Haha, I know that feeling!! When we decided to go for it and I was a week late, I got super nervous too... went straight to buy a test... those "expensive" ones for like 7.49 or something... And then when I was actually pregnant but didn't know yet, and was a week late again, I wanted to buy another test, and my boyfriend goes... wait, hold on!! But then we went to an open-air event on June 6th... I thought, before I start sweating buckets, I'd rather have some certainty.. so I bought a test on Friday... just to wait around.. I had some old blood on Friday when I got home.. so I thought.. okay.. I'll get my period tomorrow... Then it was Saturday morning.. I also had some cramps in my belly on Friday evening.. and Saturday morning still nothing... so I took the test and within a minute it was a little plus sign..

Don't focus on it too much though, because that can also cause stress and make things not work out.. We also went for it with the mindset of it'll happen when it happens... but still had a bit of healthy tension with every "late" period..

I got pregnant super fast here too. I was on the pill for about 12 years and stopped in July. I only had one period and was already pregnant by last September. I didn't believe it could happen so quickly. I thought my hormones needed to settle first and that I wouldn't ovulate right away. So I told my husband it might take half a year to a year to get pregnant. So it was quite a shock when I turned out to be pregnant after just the first try, but oh so happy. When you hear from people who take longer than a year, and trying so much is not fun and creates uncertainty. Now I have a big son, William, born on May 22

    Greetings

But if you just stopped the pill, your body needs to get its period on its own. Without the pill, a friend of mine said you can be a week late and then get your period... Is that true?.. I only have bigger breasts and sensitive nipples, it's tough haha pity to throw those tests away again haha but I'll definitely get them at Action next time.
  18. Linda #19

It depends on what kind of cycle you have. I had very irregular periods after stopping. And I was on vacation, so I didn't buy any pregnancy tests... How happy I was when I could just do one at home for peace of mind (I had no idea when my period was due) and it suddenly turned out positive!

Who, oh who can help me with that??
