    Glad you're feeling good, Linda.

Well, I had a blah day today—nauseous, dizzy, and incredibly tired. I feel like a dishcloth and it really came on like a ton of bricks. I won't complain further though, it's only day one. At least you know you're pregnant, hihi.

Also have sore nipples, never had it this extreme before haha

    Hey!

    I’ve also stopped the pill.
The first month was 28 days, the second month a cycle of 32 days, and now I expect it any moment.. day 30 now.
With my first one, my cycle was 30 days, now it might have become 32 days.. just wait a bit longer and then I’ll know.

So it’s quite possible that you now have an irregular cycle OR maybe test again? It could be that you didn’t have enough HCG the first time to show that you’re pregnant..

    Cheers

And since today I've also had a bit of a heavy feeling very low in my lower belly. It's a bit irritated, you know.

Hi! I’d take another test and otherwise pop by the GP. Sounds pretty weird indeed!

    Hi Linda,

Do you think these could be pregnancy symptoms? All these separate ailments and if it were your period, it would normally keep going, but that's not happening either. You can only test in the morning, right? I think it's best if I wait until Monday. I don't have a test at home either; I'll grab one from Action tomorrow.

    Hey,

I stopped the pill in April Normally, I should have gotten my period today if I stick to my last cycle. But I haven't had anything yet. I'm afraid I'm now irregular I've never had such long cycles before.

Have you taken a test yet, and how long have you been off the pill?

    Best, Miss V

Anonymous2, that's very possible! But I had those same symptoms during the first month after "weaning off" the pill. It's so hard to judge; really, a test is the only way to get real certainty! You can test all day long, but there's the most hormone in your urine in the morning. So I'd test again, and if not, go see your GP. Maybe your ovulation hasn't kicked in yet, which is why your period is so late.

    Hi miss v,

I had my last period on June 2nd. Usually, it's a week late, so I really stopped the pill on June 10th and didn't get my period after that. It was supposed to come on June 30th, but it hasn't yet, so I guess my body just needs a little time to get going on its own and is delaying my period, meaning I've got a really long cycle now! It's quite strange if you're not used to it, especially after being on the pill for a long time and always having your period right on time. I'm assuming this is just a long cycle and not that I'm pregnant right away, since I tested last Friday and it was negative. For extra certainty, I'll test again next week, but I don't think it will be positive then. I do have a lot of period pain though, which is annoying because my body has to take over everything on its own, and I'm unfortunately experiencing that well! So every time you get your period, just don't stop the pill.

How are you experiencing it, miss v?????

Bandenpijn also feels like period pain. I was always scared at the beginning that something was wrong because of that! But it can't do any harm... I'm really curious, Anoniem2!

I had my last period on June 2nd, was on the pill, then stopped taking it, and was supposed to get my period again on June 30th, but it still hasn’t come. My body just needs a little time to get back into rhythm, so now I’ve got a mega long cycle haha, which is totally not normal for me since I was always on schedule with the pill. I took a test last Friday and it was negative, so I’m not expecting much… I think it’s just a long cycle because my body is still adjusting after stopping the pill, especially since I haven’t been off it for very long. I do have a lot of back and leg pain, which makes me think my period is coming, but no… ????

Well ladies, don't believe anything more about the pill. I got pregnant twice while taking it. Despite that, I have a beautiful, healthy son who's almost 2, and I'm 30 weeks pregnant with my second miracle baby.

    Hey Anonymous 2,

I took a test on Sunday (day 33) and I'm pregnant

I have no idea how long my cycle was this time, but I woke up with very tender breasts.
I didn't expect it to happen so soon, as I wasn't really focusing on it.

Are you on day 36 now? Have you tested again? If it's still negative, I'd suggest calling your gynecologist.

    Best wishes

    Hi,

I stopped the pill last October and have had a regular cycle for 2 months now. I often thought it was pregnancy hormones, but it turned out to be all just post-pill symptoms.

I hope your period comes soon and that you get a regular cycle from the first month onwards. Good luck, and I hope it works out quickly for you. I’m really trying this month for the first time. We consciously waited until I had a regular cycle.

    Best wishes

    Hey Miss V

Wow, congratulations! That was pretty fast, Miss V. I haven't gotten my period yet either, but I've read online that it can take up to half a year for your first natural period to return after stopping the pill. I bought two tests today at Action and put them aside for now. I'm not assuming I'm already pregnant, but I'll still take a second test tomorrow morning... maybe I didn't have enough pregnancy hormone in my urine yet. If not, I'll just have to be patient.

Is it true that you have to wait until your first period after stopping the pill before you can get pregnant again? Or does it not matter, and could I already be pregnant now? I don't really know how it works exactly.
  16. Linda #36

You can always be fertile, even when you're on your period. If you haven't had your period yet, you can't determine your cycle, so it's hard to know when you're most fertile. But you're still fertile anyway; you ovulate first, and only then do you get your period.

If that ovulation takes a long time to happen, your GP can prescribe pills for it. That will kickstart your cycle again.

    Hi Linda,

Okay, I thought that your first ovulation and fertility would only kick in again after you’ve had your first real period. So that’s not how it works, I get it.

If I’m not pregnant, I’m still experiencing withdrawal symptoms from stopping the pill, including a lot of pain down there, so I won’t wait too long. I’ll get the pills from my GP.

    Thanks, Linda

Thanks anonymous 2, indeed faster than expected. I would personally also try a second test, and if it's negative, call the GP. You're fertile all the time. Whether you take the pill or not. Let us know what your test says. Good luck!
