Oh no! What terrible news, really! She's 23 weeks now? That's so incredibly heavy for her, and for you all! Lots of strength! And if you need to vent, you can do that here!
  2. Roos #22

I think anything under 18 is too young to get pregnant, I'd rather be 20 or older. You're more mature then and make better considered decisions.

    But saying "committing abortion", WoW.

1, 3 & 4 aren't very original names, they do come up more often. I do like Brooklyn though!
  3. Madelene #23

Just talked to Roos about being over 20.
I see it this way: at 20, you're not really ready at all mentally for having kids.
It really depends on how mature and independent you are at that age, and that's different for everyone at 20.

Oh, that's so sad. She's just not having any luck. Hope the stress doesn't make it even worse. My condolences. By the way, I have a friend who also had contractions and dilation at 23 weeks and was on tocolytics. Enzo was born recently at 41 weeks and 3 days, so there's still no telling how it'll go. I hope she stays pregnant for a while longer. Strength!!
  5. Linda #25

Wishing you lots of strength! Can't they arrange something with an internet connection, via Skype or something, so she can stay in bed and still feel like she's part of it?
  6. Linda #26

How bizarre! How could they have been so off with the number of weeks? That's really tough for your daughter, sending lots of strength!
  7. DeeDee012 #27

Oh wow, what awful news! I hope on one hand that it's a good sign she's further along in her pregnancy, because then I assume her baby's organs have matured better already..

But anyway, this is terrible for your family! Sending lots of strength!
  8. Hummel Guest #28

I wish you and your daughter lots of strength. And lots of growth for the baby.
  9. linn #29

What a lot of setbacks, wow!
    Hope everything will be okay..
From everything I've read, I think the name Angel is very fitting
  10. DeeDee012 #30

Wow, strength and congratulations, and I hope Samirah is a strong girl!
  11. Linda #31

Congratulations! And now let's hope that little one regains strength quickly! Strength!
  12. Mama93 #32

Congratulations! I really hope everything continues to go well, even though she's so early!

Only your story doesn't quite add up, hehe. Last night in your post around 1 AM you said she was 6 cm. And now at 8 PM she's already 8 cm, haha. But I can imagine you're a bit overwhelmed. It's a busy time now with your little one too.
  13. Hummel Guest #33

    Congratulations!

    Welcome Samirah!
  14. Elineke #34

    A big congratulations. (k)

Shameful response from Anonymous. I was 17 when I had my oldest son. Not everyone in my circle agreed with my decision to keep the baby, but my mother supported me. If I had chosen an abortion, she would have supported me too. Your daughter would never forgive you if she had been forced to have an abortion; is that really what you want for your child as a mother?

    To stay on-topic:

I’d definitely go for a name that’s easy to pronounce here in the Netherlands. And a name that fits the child’s ethnicity. Names like, for example, Laetitia (just picking one) sound better to me with African American children than with white ones. Scandinavian names, for instance, I find odd on dark-skinned kids.. Good luck picking a name, and good luck with your daughter’s pregnancy, wishing you all the best.
  16. ii Guest #36

Eh... Samirah is already born. Congratulations little one!

And Laetitia is a very common name for white people in Italy and Spain.
  17. Anonymous Guest #37

    Congratulations and beautiful matching names.
Wishing you lots of strength and courage.
  18. Mama4 Guest #38

oops, I hadn't read that far yet!! Congratulations on your granddaughter! Hopefully, they can go home soon.
  19. Daantje1988 #39

Congratulations! How are your daughter and granddaughter doing? Hope both are well.

I think Scarlet is the cutest, but Dutch names are also super cute, right?
Watch this video, it's not super boring!!!!!
