giving up a dream not because you want to...

but since you can't go further,
without that one person.
so here I'll try one more time
to post a call for an egg donor.
we've had some setbacks lately with our
potential donors.
so here's the question: are you our saving angel who can help us get a little one
through known donation?
then we'd love to hear from you.
after many years of setbacks, we hope to finally
have the happiness of meeting a lovely woman who can help us
fulfill our wish/dream.
if you have questions about egg donation, you can always email me at
[email protected]

love, S.

p.s. I know this post doesn't really fit here, but where else could it be better than among the moms?

    What's up?

Sorry, no interest. Was just a silly comment.

True, but it's silly to react to this.

I can totally understand why you'd ask this here.
It's also really nice, I think, to be able to help someone with something like this.
But it seems really hard to me. I have two kids myself,
and then you probably look at it from a double perspective.
On the one hand, it's nice to help,
but on the other hand, it's about your own child.
    Seems really difficult to me.

    thanks for your reply, Madelene
    (understandably, I've signed up)
it's indeed a beautiful gift you can give someone
but you're not giving away a child, just a building block,
    an egg cell,
which usually gets lost anyway every month.

    love,

Sweetheart, are you really going to become a donor? That's super cool of you!
  7. Madelene #8

Yeah, you can look at it that way too, and it’s kind of true.
But an egg still contains my personality traits
and becomes part of me in someone else’s womb.
That’s why I’d find it hard to deal with that part.
But I’d really like to help someone in that way—it’s the most beautiful gift you can give another woman, I think.
Too bad I wouldn’t be able to do it for the most part. I’d always wonder what he or she would look like?
And to what extent the egg that grew into a child would resemble me?
And by that, I mean personality.
But anyway, once again, I’d really like to help someone like that, but those thoughts hold me back.
And unfortunately, my husband wouldn’t support it.
But it’s definitely super cool that you’re helping other women with their wishes

I can't help other women, I'm looking for an egg donor myself.
Someone who can help us further.

Looks like I wasn't signed up after all ;-)

Can I ask how long you've been wanting a child?
  11. Anonymous #12

The desire for children has been there for a long time, you know.
    I've always wanted kids.
We first started trying in 2004,
so we've been on our journey for a while now

Yes, you can donate eggs at Medisch Centrum Kinderwens (Viva Neo), just like sperm. I assume it’s possible in multiple places.

I’d really like to do it, but unfortunately, I’m too old and don’t meet the requirements. But I know they’re always looking for new donors.

I can see why it’s difficult since it’s partly your DNA, but I personally think it would be even harder to be a surrogate and then give up the baby. Actually, men do exactly the same thing, of course.
