Forum Pregnant and working

negative experience when you tell your employer about your pregnancy

Hi ladies,
I'm really trying here and hoping for a pregnancy. We've been trying for a baby and planning for a while now. After giving my body time to recover from the pill (stopped contraception 7 months ago), we're now going for a baby. But I'm still very anxious about telling my employer that I'm pregnant. I've only been working there for less than a year. There's already a pregnant colleague, and a few others are trying too. I've always told my work that I still have "time," but now I'm trying to get pregnant as quickly as possible (in front of my colleagues) in the hope that my employer will react less negatively if I'm number 2 and not number 5...

That's so sad that you're putting so much pressure on yourself. Try to let go of how many colleagues you are who are pregnant.
Right now, there are 3 of my colleagues pregnant, and in a few weeks, I'll tell them I'm number 4!

Also remember that your employer gets a compensation from the UWV to temporarily replace someone.

Enjoy and lots of baby luck to you both!
