extremely painful in the buttock / right leg

Hi there,

I'm 22 weeks pregnant now. For about the past two weeks, I've been having severe pain in my right buttock/leg that shoots all the way down. I can't find any comfortable position anymore—sitting, lying down, walking, everything hurts...

Before this, I mainly had really bad lower back pain. Luckily, that's getting better now, but now I've got this instead...

Could someone tell me what this might be?

Sounds like a pinched nerve. Physio can help, or just wait it out.

    Beginning pelvic instability....??

    Good luck!

I've had this for a few weeks too.
Only on my left side, I sometimes don't even know how to lie or sit
    Because it hurts so much!
    I think it's my pelvis.
Even sleeping is getting difficult, I'm now using an extra pillow for my legs.

I got it too, but after 5 sessions of physiotherapy, I'm better. I couldn't sit normally anymore, and now I only feel it when I'm too stressed or standing for too long.
It was pelvic issues. I'd say go to a physio.
Greetings, Myrthe (21 weeks pregnant with our little boy)

    kind of like sciatica

I have it too!!! Severe pain, went to the doctor, it's a pregnancy-related varicose vein... As soon as the baby is here, it needs to be gone. Good luck!

I'm really curious after the tips and stories from others,
I've also had it for a while, only on my left side, especially when I'm lying in bed.

    Here's another victim!

Girls, lower back pain, very low pulling sensation down the leg and buttock. Physiotherapist's conclusion: pinched nerve and pelvic instability. So, work half-days, lots of swimming, and treatment twice a week. And REST!

Ooh, super annoying, right? I had that too around 23 weeks, and it lasted until the end of my pregnancy. And on the left side too. But for me, it only happened when walking. It felt like it suddenly shot out halfway. :s

Sounds like sciatica!! I have that too!! Physio and pay attention to your posture (don't stretch, extend or lift). Then it should be fine!

    Hi.

I'm now 20 weeks pregnant and I'm having pain in my left buttock, but it doesn't radiate to my back or legs. It feels more like muscle soreness. It's not there all day, only if I've been standing for too long. Does that sound familiar??

I'm 18 weeks pregnant now, and I also have pain in my right buttock, but only when I'm working.

Went to the physio yesterday. They diagnosed me with pregnancy-related sciatica and early pelvic instability. I have to keep to relative bed rest now. I'm 27 weeks pregnant... going back to the physio next week to see if the rest has helped.
