Dear reader,

I'm 4 days overdue, but I'm experiencing cramps (they feel like period cramps) and also a wet sensation (as if urine is dripping). I just took a test, but it was negative.

My question is whether anyone else had similar symptoms and turned out to be pregnant anyway.

    Hi!

I was 9 days late when I took a test.
There was a very faint line visible, so low hormone levels.
Tested again 2 days later and then there was a darker line.
I'm going to test again in a few days!
    I also had cramps.
    Now 5 weeks pregnant

    Greetings

    Roos,

I think I actually had period-like cramps during the first 10 weeks of my pregnancy! I was even convinced I was getting my period because I had such strong cramps in my lower abdomen. I was 3 days late, and then I finally got a positive test.

Also, one of the symptoms of pregnancy is that you have more discharge than usual.

Just wait it out. You can drive yourself crazy with (negative) tests, but your body will tell you when it's happening. I really hope you'll have a positive test in your hands soon!

    Wishing you all the best,
and lala120, congratulations on your pregnancy!!

    Love,
    Louise

    Hi Roos,

Have you taken a new test yet?

Hi ladies, I have a quick question.

I've had period-like cramps since my ovulation passed. But that's way too early, of course, because my next period isn't due until around March 3rd.

I've had a dull, nagging abdominal pain and lower back pain from morning till night. I'm urinating more often than usual, and I have a lot of white discharge. I'm not really nauseous, but I do have a weird sensation in my throat. After a while, it goes away. I also have a lot of heartburn and burping. One moment I think it's my period, and the next I'm hoping for pregnancy... but I don't have the typical pregnancy symptoms yet. When I feel nothing, I think I'm no longer pregnant, and when I feel something again, I get hope. So ladies, can you help me out?

My last period was Feb 3.
My fertile window was Feb 14-20.
    My ovulation was Feb 17.
My next period is due March 3.
By calculations, I should be 3 weeks pregnant. But I'm so scared it might end badly.

    Hi Erwtje,

The way to find out if you're pregnant is to take a test.
If you were 3 weeks pregnant now, the test would already show that.
I thought I might be pregnant because I had a bit more discharge than usual, some twinges in my belly, and needed to pee more often.
I'm now almost 8 weeks pregnant and only just starting to get nauseous (not every day).
If you take a test, you'll find out soon enough.

    Cheers

Yeah, I might be able to do that. But I still have to wait for my period. So it might be a bit too early to test. Gosh, I'm going crazy over this. I'm feeling all sorts of things in my belly that I don't usually feel. Maybe I should wait a few more days so the disappointment isn't even bigger. I'm not sure about those 3 weeks though. I did a calculation online and it says I'm currently 3 weeks pregnant. I have exactly the same symptoms as you: lots of discharge, all around, twinges in the belly and lower back, movements of the intestines, and urinating more often. It feels exactly the same as having a bladder infection.

The calculation online is often quite reliable.
Why would you wait to test?
If you've tested, you know where you stand!

I had my GP on the phone about this, and they told me that if I take a test now, it's a waste of money. If my period doesn't arrive until next week, the hCG hormone is still developing and won't show up in urine yet. A blood test would work though, since it's more sensitive than a urine test. There should already be a minimal amount of hormones visible in the blood, so it's my decision.

so it's my decision whether I get a blood test done or wait a bit, let things settle, and just see how it goes. We'll see by the end of next week what the result is. If I take a test now and it's positive, it'll still be positive next week and more visible than this week. But thanks for listening to me. I'll let you know what the result is.

    greetings

Katrien, it doesn't make sense to call in sick to work. You're not really getting much done anyway.
If I were you, I'd have myself signed off at home for a little while until the symptoms improve.
Does your boss know about your pregnancy?
If you tell him (and provide a note from your gynecologist), you're protected and he can't just fire you.
Then you're sure You should focus on yourself right now!

    Hey .erwtje.

I have exactly the same. What was your test result?

I still have to wait to test. So exciting!!

    Hi Katrien,

I feel you because I had exactly the same experience.
I had to walk away from clients at work because I was vomiting.
My supervisor insisted I come to work until I fainted on the shop floor.
I learned from that that if I feel sick and am vomiting a lot, I just don't go to work.
Your health and that of your baby come first.

    Love
