Stress

Hi!

Almost 3 months ago, I took my pill once more than 12 hours late.

I’ve still gotten my period every month and have taken 3 home pregnancy tests since then, all negative.

Now I’ve had stomach pain, bloating, and difficulty with bowel movements for 2 months.

When I went to the doctor to get blood drawn, he refused because he was sure I couldn’t be pregnant. But I still have this uneasy feeling. I’m only 19, so I’m even more worried. I’m still taking my pill, and I read that you can still get your period every month even if you’re pregnant.

Can anyone tell me more or has anyone experienced this before?

Thanks in advance!

    Hey Nora

I haven't had the same experience as you, but I think it's really weird and stupid of your GP that he won't draw blood because he's not sure you're pregnant!
    He should do it, period!!!

Urine tests don't work right away for all women because the hCG isn't high enough! So he should take a blood sample.

Hopefully he'll do it after all, or else I'd say go somewhere else.

    Good luck

    Greetings

    Thanks for responding!
Yeah, I think it's pretty silly too, but he said he's very sure I'm not pregnant and that it's pointless for me to get a blood test.
But where do these symptoms come from then?
And is it possible to still test negative after 3 months and still get your period?
I really don't know what to do anymore. )

Technically, your GP is right. After 3 months, a home test should be positive if you're pregnant, so the chance that you are pregnant is practically zero. It's pretty annoying that he just sends you home like that, especially since you're so worried.

Also, I don't know if you're from the Netherlands or Belgium (I'm guessing Belgium), but in the NL it's not as straightforward to get a blood test done when you're in doubt. Don't ask me why, it would save a lot of confusion

If you're still getting your period every month, I don't think you're pregnant. Don't forget that symptoms can also come from stress!!

If I were you, I'd go back to the GP and really make your concerns clear. This stress isn't good for you either! If he keeps being difficult, maybe stretch the story a little bit..

    Good luck with that!

    Good morning,

I don't want to give false hope, but I know two women who still got their period while they were pregnant.
The first is my sister; she didn't know she was pregnant until 5 months in..
The second is my girlfriend; she had such low hCG levels that the urine tests always showed negative.. even though she was almost 4 months along. She suspected she was pregnant because she had symptoms that felt unfamiliar to her, like being too tired, a bloated belly..

But yes, every woman is different,
Nora, the symptoms you're experiencing could also just be related to stress...
I've had that too, good luck with everything.
Hopefully, you'll get an answer to your question soon.

    Best wishes
