2 weeks shorter pregnant

Hey ladies,

Had my first ultrasound on Saturday and it turned out the baby was only 6 weeks instead of 8!
Also, the heartbeat wasn't regular.
Does anyone have experience with this?
Almost all hope is gone but I have another ultrasound on Wednesday.

    Hello sweetie...

    Don't lose hope! It's possible you had a late ovulation, which explains why you're a bit further along in your pregnancy. And don't worry about the heartbeat yet. I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks too... the doctor told me, "Oh, the heartbeat has just started because it's still very irregular." The heartbeat usually starts beating between 6 and 7 weeks, so it probably just got going. I understand your uncertainty! I'm 15 weeks now and I still feel that uncertainty! You want everything to be okay, but you can't control it.

    Good luck on Wednesday... then the heartbeat will surely be regular.

    Indeed, definitely don't stress too much! In the beginning, all heartbeats can be irregular!! It'll definitely be okay!! xx

    And since the heartbeat is absolutely beating, you can assume you've simply been mistaken... otherwise, the baby would have been 'deceased' for 2 weeks by now, and you wouldn't see a beating heart.

    Thank you for the replies! What you're saying does sound logical, but the gynecologist said he thought it wasn't a healthy pregnancy
    Yeah, don't hold out much hope, of course.

    Luckily, I have another gynecologist on Wednesday.

    As long as the heartbeat is there, just keep hoping, even though it's tough!!

    I started bleeding on Friday and went straight to the hospital, where they saw that the baby had already passed away.
    Very sad, but hopefully it will come out on its own soon.
