Scared of salmonella

As long as you don't have a fever, it's not salmonella! Good thing

    Glad to hear you're feeling better already! Probably it was something else, like a virus.
    By the way, salmonella isn't directly dangerous to your baby (unlike listeria and toxoplasmosis, for example). You can only get really, really sick yourself from it - and for weeks if you're unlucky - which means you lose a lot of energy and nutrients. That's certainly not something you want when you're pregnant. And especially since you're generally more susceptible to infections during pregnancy, it's important to try to avoid salmonella. But it's a rotten illness for everyone, so always cook chicken thoroughly and prevent cross-contamination by being careful with kitchen utensils that have touched raw chicken (I always put the knife and cutting board in the sink and then 'nuke' them with boiling water ).
