    How does the nub theory work?

    I'm getting another ultrasound in 2 weeks at 15 weeks... I think it'll be funny to make a prediction.

    It’s so exciting

    @angelique: with the nub theory, you look at a little protrusion (the nub) of the baby that’s visible from 11 weeks onwards. This is only visible (like in the photo above) when the ultrasound image is taken straight from the side. The angle of the nub relative to the spine predicts whether it’s a boy or a girl. If it points upward, it’s a boy; if it runs at the same angle as the spine, it’s a girl.

    If you have an ultrasound at 15 weeks, the nub is no longer visible, and you’ll start seeing the beginning of the genitalia..!

    11 weeks is way too early, it's only possible from 12 weeks onwards. Everything looks like a girl so far. Unfortunately, I can't load the photo.
