After how many TP ICSI/IVF cycles do you get pregnant?

Helloooo..
About three quarters of a year ago I was on this forum too! I was going to start with IUI. That didn't end up happening.. the sperm was just too poor for that. 100,000 after processing! So, we continued with ICSI. Two months back I had the egg retrieval. Unfortunately, the transfer couldn't go ahead due to overstimulation... now, two days ago, a frozen embryo was transferred. The first one came out of the freezer perfectly fine, and we still have 6 left. We're really happy about that.
I should be able to test in ten days.
I'd love to hear stories from other girls about ICSI or IVF!?
What was the reason for your medical journey and had you already had a transfer?
Greetings Gwendelaa xx

We also qualified for ICSI due to low sperm count. We did three hormone treatments, but I didn’t have enough eggs, and I also developed cysts in between. So we finally went for a puncture... it was a big gamble. Three eggs, two of which were usable, and two days later I got a call saying one had been fertilized. It was transferred... a B grade embryo. Ten days later I took a test... I felt pregnant and I was pregnant. That was April 1st this year. Now I’m in my tenth week and very happy... that we took the gamble. We’ve had two ultrasounds and everything has been good so far. We’re hoping to finally become a 34-year-old mom and a 42-year-old dad in early/mid December

Hi Esther, wow, what luck! That's great. One test and it worked right away. Congratulations!!
I tested yesterday and I'm pregnant too! Also got pregnant on the first try! At least we know it's possible... even though we're still a bit in disbelief, haha. Hope everything keeps going well

We ended up in the hospital in November 2009.
8 rounds of Clomid, 5 rounds of IUI with Puregon/Pregnyl.
After a year in one hospital, where they lost confidence after an unpleasant incident, we switched to the UMC Utrecht. There it became clear right away that my husband's sperm quality was so poor that we were only eligible for ICSI: 300,000 sperm per ml.
I had 2 egg retrievals. The first attempt yielded only one embryo, which didn't implant.
The second retrieval's fresh embryo also didn't implant, but we had 4 cryopreserved embryos.
Cryo 1 ended in a miscarriage at 6.4 weeks of pregnancy. Cryo 2 ended in a miscarriage at 11.3 weeks of pregnancy. And cryo 3 is currently happily implanted with me, so that one went well
By the way, the reason for my miscarriages was a uterine abnormality that required 7 surgeries. The last surgery was 3 months before the transfer of our little miracle. Before that, there wasn't enough space in my uterus, which caused the 2 previous failures.

Wishing you lots of success and hoping you'll soon have a beautiful miracle growing in your belly!

    Hi ladies,

Here's another success story. After 3 IUIs, we were referred to IVF (slow sperm - lots of sperm cells, but they're less mobile). The first time, I had an 8-cell embryo (Grade B) transferred back and it was a hit right away. I already knew a few days before the test

Everything is going well here. First ultrasound next week.
    Congratulations on your pregnancies, ladies!

I just started my 5th ICSI cycle. We've been trying for over two years with all sorts of methods, but unfortunately, I've also had a few miscarriages. The last one was at the end of April when I was just 12 weeks pregnant. It turned out to be a case of Down syndrome, and the baby's esophagus wasn't closed properly, so it couldn't start drinking and eventually passed away on its own. So, we decided to end the pregnancy ourselves since there was no chance of it continuing, and the baby would have died at birth anyway if the esophagus issue had been resolved. It's all very frustrating and incredibly hard to carry this grief. We still hope that it will work out in the last two attempts, because unfortunately, we've never been lucky enough to freeze embryos.

I see it's been a while since anyone replied here, but I also did IVF, PGD, and ICSI, and got pregnant on the first try! I'm now 7 weeks and 2 days pregnant with our little miracle. I have a chromosomal abnormality, which caused two miscarriages because the embryos had that same issue. How are things going for you all now?

    Hi,

First of all, I really want to wish everyone on this forum lots of luck and give you all a big hug; I used to read every forum and all the stories because I just couldn't get pregnant. After trying everything, I ended up getting pregnant naturally at the age of forty, by the way. This was after three years of trying. I was about to start IVF, but in the end, I just took PregnaCare, folic acid, etc. Both are supposed to strengthen the egg (yes, even folic acid), and PregnaCare gives a huge boost. It helps with good implantation. But still, believe in your body because I know I went through the medical merry-go-round, and nothing could be found. After a fairly painful ultrasound (SIS), I was about to do an even more painful HSG. I refused that and I was completely done with it.

Now I'm pregnant, and I wish you all the best, it will work out. Oh, and one more tip, having sex on day 10, or an early day, is often the best in my opinion. Not necessarily on that smiley, though.

    Greetings
    and good luck!

First of all, wishing everyone lots and lots of luck and success! We're currently on our first attempt, with 2 good embryos created and 1 transferred. Still 9 nerve-wracking waiting days ahead.

Marleen, exciting! I'm 27 weeks pregnant with my first baby, and everything is going well with the little one!! Good luck!

Unfortunately, the first IVF attempt ended in a miscarriage
Now we're considering all our options...
It's good to read that there are success stories

Mavanmi, when can you try for 2?
  14. Anonymous #15

Success here too, needed 1 ICSI. 5 embryos. 1 transferred and 2 frozen on 1 straw
  15. RJ Guest #16

For us, it was clear right away that ICSI was the only way. I had 16 eggs, 10 embryos, 1 fresh transfer, and 6 in the freezer. And yippee! It worked on the very first try. I’ve had my first ultrasound and the little heart is beating.
    Good luck to everyone!
  16. aamy #17

Congratulations! We also have a PGD ICSI baby; she's already 8 months old!!

    Enjoy your pregnancy.

I have a question for you. I'm back on December 1st. The ICSI didn't work. When should I start again?
  18. aamy #19

I think after you've had your period.
  19. Miranda Guest #20

1st transfer, found out with the ultrasound that the heartbeat wasn't there. After a cryo transfer, got pregnant again, but the ultrasound showed it wasn't okay again. Now waiting for the next attempt.
