almost 17 months old and waking up upset

Hello ladies,

I'm pretty sleep-deprived here.
Our Tygo has been a super good sleeper from the start, except when teething or something came along.
But now for 3 weeks he wakes up upset every night. First we tried to soothe him without picking him up from his crib, but that didn't work. Then we'd change his diaper, give him a drink, cuddle him a bit, and put him back in his crib, but unfortunately that didn't work either..
He spent some time in his room while we sang to him, we really tried everything but nothing works.
After 1.5 weeks, pff it's so exhausting, we kept putting him in our bed until he fell asleep, then putting him back in his own crib.
Sometimes this works well, and other times he's upset again after an hour, so now we just let him stay in our bed more often :/, although I'd rather not do that.. because often we fall asleep and he wakes up in our bed in the morning.

Anyone got a tip? Is this a phase? I do see that his molars are coming in, but it's never been this extreme before.

We just went through the same thing. This is just a phase that you can best handle by not giving in to it. I know it... very difficult. But if you don't do this, they'll just learn that if they scream, they get to come into your bed. Little kids are smarter than you think.. We went to her room for 3 days straight when she started screaming again, explained that we're nearby and that nothing bad can happen. Just reassure her (without picking her up), tell her she needs to sleep in her own bed, and then unfortunately ignore the next screams.

You've reassured them. But still make your point clear. After 3 days, this phase was over. At first, we also tried sitting next to her bed and comforting her, etc... But it didn't last. You just can't keep that up yourself..

Our little girl is 11 months now.. And since Saturday she wakes up screaming in the night... I have to say that she's starting to take steps here and there, she takes 2 steps sometimes but since Saturday and that's when the screaming started too.. Could it be related? She hasn't fallen or anything so I don't think she'd be startled by that. She gets a bottle from me which she only wants to drink empty on my arm and then back to bed to sleep another hour or so and then wake up screaming again. Then I just give her her dummy and soothe her a bit but it doesn't really help and I have to take a weight off my heart but after 1 min she's asleep again like a little angel...
    Love
