What are the really best read-aloud books to start with? What have you all had good experiences with?

Dikkie Dik and Woezel en Pip are read aloud here every evening again (with lots of fun from papa and mama ). As long as there are plenty of pictures and not too much text.

My little girl was crazy about those animal peekaboo books where you’d hear the sounds each time. My son is really into Nijntje and Dikkie Dik now, especially the flap books. He just turned one.
I think it’s mostly fun when they know what’s coming next, so reading the same book over and over. That’s when you get the most reactions too.
Pluizer.be has a handy selection of baby and children’s books.

It's well, an English book but a favorite here: The Going to Bed Book by Sandra Boynton.
A funny, short, cute book with funny pictures. I started reading it when he was only 3 weeks old . By around 3 months he was already super excited when I picked it up, and now at 10 months he happily comes to sit on my lap when I start reading.

Dikkie Dik, Woezel en Pip. Books with lots of pictures and little text. You can make up the story yourself.
