sick from pregnancy

Hi other moms,
I was wondering... I'm now almost 24 weeks pregnant and still dealing with a lot of ailments and issues.
Nausea, dizziness, fatigue, vaginal/tongue infections (both have come back multiple times), lots of palpitations, and so on.
What I'm wondering is, can I get early leave or a sickness benefit with these complaints?
Right now, I'm receiving unemployment benefits because the company where I worked has closed, but I'm still required to look for other work, which I am doing. However, as soon as they see my big belly, it's basically over anyway, and with these complaints, I wouldn't last even a week at home; the household chores are already very hard for me.
Does anyone here have experience with this or know more about it?

Thanks in advance.
Greetings

I’ve also called in sick, and I’m partially on unemployment benefits (due to pelvic pain and inflamed veins). They assess whether you’re sick enough to stop job hunting. But because of your pregnancy, they’re usually not too strict. As long as you reach your due date stress-free, that’s what matters most. Make sure to mention right away that you’re sick due to your pregnancy—I didn’t do that. You get higher benefits when pregnant than if you’re just sick.

Actually, you’re so unwell that you shouldn’t even be thinking about working; that’s reason enough to call in sick.
Of course, you must start maternity leave 6 weeks before your due date, but I was already planning to do that. Sick is sick.
You don’t need to feel guilty, because all those years you worked, you contributed to building up your unemployment fund.

My sister-in-law stopped working from 4 months onwards because she was constantly nauseous, etc. She ended up on sick leave (ziektewet).

I'm now 20 weeks pregnant and have already called in sick several times because I'm suffering from all the usual symptoms (still am). On Friday I have a meeting with the branch manager and someone from HR to look for a solution. I'll probably work less then and partly go on sick leave. I find it tricky to figure out how much I want/can work, because: what is 'working too much' and what is 'taking it easy'?

But I wouldn't stress too much about it either, and mention to UWV that you're pregnant and that it's really hard to go to work because of it.

Best wishes, and take it easy!

Hi, if you're feeling dizzy and tired, I'd suggest checking with your midwife. It could be a deficiency in... I had really bad dizziness and it turned out I was severely lacking in B12... As for work and leave, I can't give an answer... ????
