My stomach is all rumbling around.

Hi everyone,

I'll just get straight to the point: I'm not really sure what's going on. For the past few days, I've had a heavy feeling in my lower abdomen (period-like cramps) and I've been feeling a bit nauseous now and then. I took a test this morning, but it came back negative. I do know that there are certain times when you should test, but I've lost track of the timing right now. Here's the situation:

I got my period around August 15th. That seemed odd to me because I was experiencing 'pregnancy symptoms' at the time. I had missed taking two pills in the days leading up to that and had had sex. Despite that, it turned out I wasn't pregnant.

On Friday, August 6th, I took the last pill of a new pack. Since I had a camp later that week, I decided to skip the pill-free week and start a new pack immediately. I'm still on that pack now, with 12 days left. HOWEVER, I missed one pill in this pack, so technically there are only 11 days left. Right now, though, I'm already feeling the cramps I normally get right before my period starts. The test showed nothing.

So my question to you all is: when can I take a test and trust the result to confidently rule out pregnancy?

    Hi!

It's possible that your body is reacting to the fact that you missed a pill AND skipped your break week..
I always found skipping the break week terrible, because then I always felt like I was going to get my period anyway with the second pack..
If your tests stay negative, there's nothing to worry about.
If you're still doubting; just pop by the GP so they can take a blood sample, then you'll know for sure..

By the way, testing in the morning is best, and you did that so that can't be the issue

Okay, thanks! If I want to test again, when would be the best time to do that? Should I finish this test first and then wait for the first day of my period?

Yes, I would do that if I were you.
    Good luck!

Even today, the stomach ache in my lower belly was back, and on top of that, I was feeling nauseous in waves. Plus, I kept trembling from time to time and felt super hot. I’ve decided to make an appointment with the GP tomorrow. Who knows, it might be something completely different, but it just keeps going on (since Thursday afternoon last week).
