Sorry for the typos. I see them now. I'm working out but had to reply quickly.

    Doesn't matter..
I read it back and realized it might not have been worded very kindly.. So I've adjusted it!
Please don't take my opinion as an attack, because that's really not my intention!

    Hi little one...

You're allowed to have your opinion too... and luckily not everyone thinks the same! I'd also hate it if she felt pain from those studs. But she has special baby earrings... they don't have studs, but a little ball on the back so she won't be bothered by them! I just think that a 3-year-old doesn't really understand what it means and you can't leave that choice up to them. When they're older, they won't even remember making that choice and might think differently about it! A 3-year-old wants it because she likes it with mom... not because she understands it. But yeah... everyone's got their own thing, and that's a good thing!!

Vera, how lovely! Another little girl too! Mana was born on May 26... so just 3 months old! Such a sweet thing! I already have a 5-year-old boy, so I'm really happy with my girl! A girl is still special, after all!
She sports... I thought I was running fanatically yesterday too... 2 huge blisters! Haha

    Love

@kruimel! I replied too quickly too. Not how I wanted it to be.
But indeed, we are all different from each other, otherwise the world would be very boring haha.

@lynn, yes how nice! My daughter was born on May 9th. I am sooooo happy about it too. With such a big boy that I already have (8 years old), she is really a wonder for us.

I'm glad there are already so many replies. So many girls haha.
It can honestly be said to be addictive too. Even buying girls' clothes. Isn't it great????

I replied anonymously here earlier because I wasn't registered yet. That was the response regarding nickel allergy.
Everyone has their own views on parenting. No one is bad or good, everyone does what seems best for their child.
You can always say something about everything, including this topic. Yes, I'm also someone who values their child's opinion highly and raises my child accordingly. This goes only so far, but I try to give her choices. In my belief, this is only good for her development. If you give them earrings so early, you're not letting them choose.
But someone else might think completely differently. Let each other be and respect each other, that gets us a long way. A little empathy doesn't hurt

Have you made a decision yet, Vera?

@trotsemama you're absolutely right. Understanding each other and respecting each other.

Yes, I'm sticking with my original idea of getting her earrings around her first birthday. That seems the most fun to us.

It seems like a lot of babies were born here! Our little girl was born on May 14th :-)

    Hi everyone...

I only have a son myself, who's 15 (and we're expecting a second), and I had him get his ears pierced around age seven. He doesn't wear anything now... but doesn't mind the holes.

I got gold hoop earrings (small hoops) as a 9-month-old baby from an uncle and aunt. I have to say that looking back, I've never had any issues with them (I don't remember anything about it) or later thought it was a bad decision. On the baby photos, they look really cute! So nothing wrong with it... And now that I'm older, I wear earrings very occasionally... you barely see the holes... My mother developed a nickel allergy at a later age, even though she got her earrings much earlier; she got it from cutlery in our restaurant that we had at home... which is probably why I get irritated by cheap studs/pendants myself... Everyone should do what they think is sensible...

If you want to and want to save your daughter a lot of trouble and pain, I'd definitely recommend doing it at a young age! Good luck!!

I live in South America, and my mother-in-law pierced my daughter's ears when she was 1 month old. Here they do it when they're newborns. No problem. The older they are, the more painful it gets.

I waited until my daughter herself said she wanted earrings. She was 4 then.
I warned her it might hurt, but she still wanted to do it... So we went to the jeweler. She was aware of what was coming, but didn’t make a sound.
