Can stress cause a miscarriage?

Hi, I hope I'm in the right place. A friend of mine is pregnant, but she's really stressed about her job. I keep telling her to take it easy, but she says a bit of activity is good for her.

I've heard that stress can be really bad for the baby and can even cause miscarriage.

My question is: is this true? And what can I say to convince her to take it easier?

Thanks, Lucie

    Without a doubt: yes.

It’s also said that stress can delay contractions, but it varies from woman to woman. So yes, stress can cause a miscarriage, but it really depends on how your body reacts. Stress can also delay contractions during labor—again, it really varies from woman to woman.
