combination test

Hi everyone!
I just wanted to share my story!
I'm pregnant with our second little miracle.
I had told the midwife practice that we wanted to do a combined test! My boyfriend's uncle has Down syndrome! And it wasn't that we wouldn't want the baby, but you can prepare yourself a bit for it! So at the first appointment, I had to choose a hospital so they could fax the request right away! I was there when she did it! I was supposed to hear back from the hospital on my own. When I came for the second appointment, I mentioned that I was already expecting the letter from the hospital, but they said it was still coming! Shortly after, a letter from the hospital arrived! When we went there last Wednesday, it was an invitation to meet the hospital staff!!! And then we found out that the combined test couldn't be done anymore!! The fax had never arrived!! I'm trying not to stress too much because it simply can't be done anymore (yes, a blood test in Belgium, and we don't do that here), but it was quite a letdown! Luckily, the doctor had already done an ultrasound!! And everything looked good! I'm glad I could get it off my chest! Now I'll enjoy my pregnancy again because things are going really well!! Lots of love, Rodieksie

What a mess! The nuchal translucency measurement is indeed only possible during a certain period. Luckily, the ultrasound showed that everything is okay!

That's so unfortunate that this has ruined it for you guys. At the 20-week scan, they'll do a thorough check of the baby for any abnormalities, so they can spot a lot here too. If everything turns out to be fine, you can then enjoy it!
