Just visited the GP and she can well imagine that I'm pregnant, but couldn't give a definitive answer either. She also mentioned that she sees more and more women who test negative but are actually pregnant. I have to test again next Wednesday and we'll see from there.
    How long does waiting feel...

What tests did you use? Some tests need more hCG. The first test I used was from Kruidvat, 2 tests for 5 euros. They're cheap and very sensitive.
    I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I first used one Clearblue and then one store brand. I think I'll try the Kruidvat one on Wednesday
  4. sanjo #24

Clearblue needs more hCG. And the one from DA, I also tested negative at first during my previous pregnancy even though I was pregnant. But I don't know if they're better now.

I used the digital Clearblue about a week late because I wanted to read it haha.

I heard more girls say that the Kruidvat tests even show positive before their period.

Exciting. Good luck with testing, I hope he holds out as long as possible. Fingers crossed.

No changes here yet... Still feeling nauseous, but luckily not as many cramps anymore. Couldn't resist doing a pregnancy test yesterday, but it was still negative
So the midwife said the same, and we have to park it for his sake and we'll test again next Monday... first we're going away for the weekend.
And then we'll see if I can wait that long Today is 12 days overdue

Oh, that’s so disappointing that it’s negative. And yeah, GPs can sometimes be a bit dismissive. Didn’t he want to do a blood test? Because I’ve heard that some girls get a positive result from a blood test even when the urine tests are negative. I hope you can hang in there for a bit longer. Sending lots of positive vibes.

No, he didn't want to do a blood test yet. I had to wait another 10 days, and if it was still negative by then, I'd get an ultrasound, if I understood correctly, since I'd be heading towards 8/9 weeks. Maybe if I test negative again next Monday, he'll prick my finger for a blood test. Maybe I wasn't assertive enough

@kim and @kimm, how are things with you now? Any good news?
I'm going to test again on Friday, and if it's still negative, I'll call the HA to get a blood test or ultrasound. I'm done with having so many symptoms but no positive test...
  9. sanjo #29

And has Meppie already done a test??
Keep your fingers crossed. And if not, just insist on a blood test at the doctor's office, because some girls only test positive very late.

Meppie. Here’s the MS since it ended today, so on to round 9! How was your test?

    Hi ladies,
I couldn't wait any longer on Friday so I did a test but it was negative again. So frustrating because I'm really feeling nauseous. So I called the GP right away and went to their office on Friday, and I'm getting an ultrasound tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 PM. So exciting. Everything points to me being pregnant, but those stupid tests just won't cooperate.

How are you feeling now, Sanjo?
@Kim, hopefully you'll have good news in 4 weeks too! I'm rooting for you and have fun with the renovations! ;-)
  12. sanjo #32

That waiting is pretty tough, huh? I can't do it either. I really hope you're pregnant.
Good that you called the doctor then. So he didn't want to do a blood test.
But it's nice that you're getting an ultrasound today. I've heard more than once that there are girls who test negative while they are actually pregnant. Such a waste of money then.
I'm crossing my fingers really hard for you now.

I'm doing fine. The first few weeks I was quite nauseous after testing positive. But now no discomfort at all, and the day before yesterday I could already feel the little one kicking, and you could even see it from the outside. I'm now 17 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Next Monday I already have the 20-week ultrasound. I'm seeing a gynecologist because of my thyroid.

And Kim, good luck with the chores, girl. I'll be crossing my fingers for you too.

haha Sanjo, yes, I thought so too. What a waste of money if I am pregnant. Slept super badly last night. My mind is already at the ultrasound. Luckily, I could go today. I think the GP didn't want to do a blood test because they would also test for HCG, which is also used in pregnancy tests. It probably seemed easier to get it right in one go. I'll let you know this afternoon!

Glad you're feeling well! I hope the nausea goes away. I'm not quite throwing up yet, but it's not far away...
Do you want to know what it is on Monday or do you want to keep it a surprise?
  14. sanjo #34

Yes, it really is a waste of money. It's still exciting, and I can totally understand why you're having trouble sleeping because of it.
Yeah, that could be the reason they don't do a blood test.
Yeah, let me know. I find it quite exciting for you too, hehe.

Well, I had that too; I didn't have to vomit, but it was close.
With my daughter's pregnancy, I had no issues at all.
I actually didn't want to know, but my husband did. So we do ask what it is, but tell no one. As long as it's healthy, that's the most important thing for me.
On one hand, it's nice to know. But I also know two couples who both thought they were having a girl, painted the rooms pink, and ended up with two boys. So you never know, hehe.

    Crossing fingers.

Well, we got some bad news! It seems my body is playing tricks on me. The gynecologist mentioned that I probably have POC syndrome. Basically, it means I'm not ovulating. But he found it strange that I only missed my period now, especially since I had it every month after stopping the pill in October. I had a blood test done and will get the results next Friday to see if I indeed have this syndrome.
But because of this, my body is all messed up with the wrong hormones, which is why I'm probably experiencing all these pregnancy symptoms.
So now we just have to wait and see.

Sanjo, have lots of fun with the rest of your pregnancy! Enjoy it :-)
Hopefully, I'll get that good news soon too.
  16. sanjo #36

That's really sad, girl. I was hoping for you too, even though I don't know you. I wish it for everyone. I hope you'll get pregnant soon. It's weird that you're only finding out now, I guess.
I wanted to send you a private message, but I see you're a guest on the forum. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Thank you, and I'm hoping with you. Big hug for you.
  17. Meppie87 Guest #37

Thanks! We're staying positive too, because I've read so many stories from women with this syndrome who got pregnant quickly with a little help. So it'll work out fine :-)

Thanks for your support, and wishing you a very good pregnancy too, and of course, have lots of fun at your ultrasound on Monday!

Hi hi, I'm in the same boat. I'm 15 days late and tested negative 12 days ago. But I did lose a few drops of blood for 2 days a week before my period. I have no symptoms at all, but I didn't have any with my son either. I'm 40 though. Perimenopause? Or secretly pregnant?
  19. Claudia #39

Honestly, I think "ontpillen" is bullshit.
My mom told me I had to stop the pill for at least 6 months...
The GP said that's just a myth.
I got pregnant 3 months after my last pill intake, and it was the first time we had unprotected sex on the most fertile days.
Tip: you can calculate your ovulation period online. Sounds silly, but it helped me anyway.
I was told 'between July 14 and 16' was the most fertile, and voila, July 14, boom, and immediately pregnant. Maybe you should try that!

Hi everyone, I'm 4 days before my period and tested negative this morning. It's been about a year and a half since we had a miscarriage, during which my left fallopian tube was removed. Since there are still lots of hormones in your body after a miscarriage, I'm hoping it worked out this month. I'm supposed to get my period on Wednesday, so I'm hoping it stays away. My question is: did anyone get pregnant right after a miscarriage?! Greetings
