Negative test! Still pregnant???

I'm a few days overdue and took a test yesterday, but it was negative. Since I'm having so many symptoms, I'm starting to doubt if it was accurate... I tested at 5:30 PM, and I drink a lot of water and tea during the day, so my urine was very clear. My stomach keeps cramping, and I keep getting waves of nausea. Should I take another test in the morning, or should I just wait a bit longer... My last cycle started on April 21. Has anyone else experienced this?

    Hi Meppie,
I'm going through the same thing you are right now. I'm 4 days overdue today, even though I always get my period on time. So yesterday afternoon I took a test and it was negative. I have sore breasts, nausea, fatigue, mood swings, etc. So I'm wondering if I could still be pregnant. I'll take another test on Friday or Saturday.

    Hi Ashley,
I don't have any patience so I bought another test and will test first thing tomorrow morning, then we'll know. I mean, I wouldn't know why else I'd feel this way.
I'm also tired, mood swings, nauseous, sore breasts, and having trouble with my gut and lots of gas. On top of that, it feels like I'm about to get my period because of the cramps. But nothing comes...

You can drive yourself crazy... tomorrow we'll know! Good luck with the second test too :-)
    Xx Meppie

    Hi,
I don't have any patience either, I think my boyfriend is going crazy because of me! I'm going to test again on Saturday. I don't understand it all anymore, because I'm never late. I always feel beforehand when my period is going to start, but now nothing. Just nausea, tiredness, mood swings, stabbing in my belly, sore breasts and discharge. So yeah.

Yeah, we're driving ourselves crazy like this, but I want this sooooo badly, so not knowing makes it even worse.

    xx: Ashley

So this morning I took the test, but we saw a white line. So not pregnant...
Now we just have to wait until I get my period and otherwise I'll test again in a week.

I'm super curious about your test on Saturday! Hopefully yours is positive! I'll root for you :-)!

Well, I don't need to do a test for now, because I just got my period this morning. I'm so angry and frustrated. It just doesn't seem to work out. Every month there's hope that it'll work, but nothing! Just frustrating and hurtful. So yeah!

Oh Ashley, that's so sad! How long have you been trying now? For me, it was the first month, but I can already imagine how frustrating it must be. You drive yourself crazy, and even though you don't want to think about it, you still feel nauseous and those cramps, so you do think about it every day...

Hopefully, you'll have good news next month! I'd love to hear from you if you can!

    Hi,

I've been seriously trying to get pregnant for 4 months now, but we've been having unprotected sex since December. It's frustrating to see how some people conceive in the first month while I haven't had any luck yet. Especially when you want it so badly, every period feels like such a letdown. But as my boyfriend says, we'll keep trying.

    And you?

    Hi ladies.

First off, I want to wish you all the best of luck with trying to conceive. We were at it for about 9 months to get pregnant with our second child. But before that, I had already been off the pill for 4 months. At first, I was really focused on it, but in the last month I wasn't, and then I got pregnant. I'm now 15 and a half weeks along. With my daughter, I was pregnant within 3 months.

And the best way to test is in the morning with first morning urine.

Good luck, ladies. I really understand how it feels to experience that disappointment, but try not to dwell on it too much. It's sometimes easier said than done.

@ashley I'm only one month along, so we hadn't really factored it in yet. I've been off the pill since October because I wasn't tolerating it well. So I really shouldn't complain at all xx

@Sanjo First of all, congratulations! It's true that I shouldn't be focusing on it too much, but when you're feeling nauseous, it's so hard not to think about it, and your period just keeps not showing up... So we'll just wait and see, there's nothing more we can do

Meppie, I completely understand how you feel. I was also 6 days late once and was really upset when I got my period.
It's pretty hard not to think about it. The last month I was busy with all sorts of things. That helped a lot hihi.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
    And thank you.

Meppie, I totally get how you feel. I was also 6 days late once and felt so bummed when I got my period.
It’s really hard not to think about it. The last month I was busy with all sorts of things, which helped a lot, hehe.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.
    And thank you.

Ladies. Tough, right? I'm 8 months along. I've been sitting here for 2 days waiting for my period. Hopefully, it stays away. Here it's a mixed cycle. One month early, the other a week late. During those weeks you're overdue, you always feel things extra (or do I think I feel them?) just like you write about: sore breasts, nausea, twinges, etc. Unfortunately, it's a fact that the same symptoms appear as when your period is coming. I really hope it's a hit for you and your period stays away. Unfortunately, there's nothing more you can do but wait... I'm curious, exciting.

Hey Kim, that's exciting for you too! Hopefully, your period stays away! It's a shame your cycle is so irregular, because then you never really know when you're overdue.

I'm still feeling terribly nauseous and still haven't gotten my period...

I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow. I already had it scheduled for other matters, but it's good to consult with him anyway. Maybe he can give some clarity...

I'm curious if it worked out for you this month

Ladies, if you've just stopped the pill, it could also be that your body is adjusting. The symptoms of coming off the pill can feel a lot like pregnancy symptoms, which can really throw you off. I stopped the pill myself in September/October, and my period didn't return until Christmas, and then it was irregular. My husband and I really tried to conceive in February/March. The first time, I got my period 4 days after my expected date, and I was devastated because I had symptoms. The second time, I got my period 1 day before my expected date, and I was very disappointed because I had symptoms again. This month, I told myself that all the symptoms I felt were from coming off the pill. I had quite a few symptoms (especially different from before). I tested 1 or 2 days after my expected date, and it was positive! Tomorrow, I'll be 7 weeks pregnant!

    So keep your spirits up!
And you'll be pregnant soon too!
    Good luck!

@dreamer First of all, congratulations! I'm so glad it worked out

I don't think it's because I stopped the pill. I actually stopped in October and haven't had any issues since then. It would be weird if it suddenly happened now, right? Well, time will tell. Maybe something else is going on...

    Wishing you a wonderful pregnancy

Oh, pills like I often read are partly also a myth, the pill is out of your system quickly.
I've been trying for 8 months now. The first months my cycle was normal. Only later did it start acting weird haha.

Meppie87: yeah, you can always hope. You never know. I'm still often nauseous here but I'm pretty convinced it's not the case, I don't know after all the disappointments I can't believe anymore. I feel like it could be the one every time.
Well, just wait and see. Unfortunately, we can't do more.
  17. sanjo #18

I don't believe in "ontpillen" either, because I often hear that some girls get pregnant quite quickly. With my daughter, I was pregnant within 3 months and had therefore stopped the pill for 3 months.

I also had painful breasts every month before my period was due, and I wasn't pregnant. And when I was pregnant, I didn't have painful breasts or cramps. The nausea only came when I was 5 weeks pregnant. By the way, I didn't have that nausea with my daughter; that came later.

I wish you lots of success with the doctor. And chin up, girls. I'm rooting for you.

    Hi everyone!

I'm in the same boat as a few others on this forum. Monday was my period due, and still no sign of it. Wednesday morning I took a test, but it was negative. Now I'm reading a lot that it could be that your hcg isn't high enough yet because ovulation might have been later than you thought. I really hope that's the case. Tomorrow morning or Saturday I'll take another test. Good luck to everyone, and hopefully good news soon
  19. Anonymous Guest #20

Hey Kim, that's so exciting! My first two tests were also negative and I had read that it might be too early. Good luck and let me know what your second test says. I'm already 10 days past my period tomorrow so I'm not sure either
