Has anyone used the Medela belly band? Any experiences to share?

Hey girls,

I've actually had a lot of discomfort in my belly since the moment my uterus started growing. If I walk just a short distance, my belly feels so leaden that I really get stomach pain from it.

Now I'm looking for a belly band that doesn't support your pelvis and back (which I don't have issues with), but rather a belly band that actually lifts your belly a bit, so I don't have to do all that work myself.

Does anyone here have experience with the Medela belly band? I've seen it listed on Marktplaats, and it's also available to order through home care webshops for about €10. Not expensive, so I think it's worth trying. But I'm curious to hear experiences from someone who has such a band.

Hope you can help me out.

Love!

I only have experience with the prenatal belly band. It's a wide elastic band that you secure around your pelvis, and then there's an elastic band that goes around your belly. It helped me feel less uncomfortable with the weight of my belly. Maybe worth trying? No experience with Medela, sorry

I only have experience with Anita's pelvic band, but I know Carriwelle has a belly band for the belly: http://www.inpositiekleding.nl/carriwell-support-buikband.html

This is more than just a decorative belly band. And this doesn't directly relate to your pelvis. By the way, you shouldn't wear a real pelvic band for too long either, because your muscles can get weak from it—at least that's what a physio told me. You can wear it for just a few hours a day.

iza and nienke thanks. i did indeed also read that the pelvic band shouldn't be worn all day.
i'm going to buy the medela band and see if it helps. i do want to call my partner first to ask if i can wear it for longer, or maybe just a few hours a day.

For everyone with belly pain or other complaints. I got the band in and I'm super happy with it. I can suddenly stand up without everything starting to pull and hurt! Really a recommendation!
