You can indeed test at any time. I made sure not to drink too much for about 4 hours and didn't go to the toilet for 4 hours. -

Curious now... I haven't drunk much today, maybe only 2 or 3 glasses in total, but I have a bad metallic taste in my mouth and have been going to the toilet every 10-15 minutes for the last 2 hours. I can't really hold it in, unfortunately. I hope this time, after so long, it will finally be positive!! Thanks, I'll let you know. -

Still tested negative, unfortunately (deep sigh) -

Ah, sorry dear
Really disappointing
Try to stay positive
It must be really hard right now
But don't lose hope.
I also thought there wouldn't be a third one
But after 2 years, it did work out.
Good luck with the next round
And stay strong. -
Poesh #45
Have you had any tests yet? 3 years is already quite long.. -
madelene #46
Who do you mean by "Poesh"? Me?
It took me 2 years to conceive this third one. I never went to the doctor before. It only worked when my husband was actively participating, meaning we had intercourse exactly every other day from 9 AM to 7 PM. Then it was immediately successful. Sounds weird, but when he skipped a day or two, nothing happened, so it took longer.
I also had to time things carefully for my first daughter. I really wanted it to work. It's actually quite strange. The second one came quickly though. After 1 month. -

Oh sorry, pooch, you obviously meant Sarah
Oops, typo
Sorry, misunderstood. -
Poesh #48
Madelene, no problem. I meant Sarah, indeed. My answer was short because I'm on my phone
So, Sarah, my question is/is for you.
After 3 years, it's probably something that's fairly easy to resolve. That's why I'm asking if you've had any tests done. -

Yes, we've had tests and check-ups, no problems, everything was fine. We're going to take another look if I don't get my period, but so far, nothing yet. The weird thing is, I don't have typical PMS symptoms like a warm and sore tummy or lower back pain. Just constantly needing to go to the toilet and tender, sore breasts. I'm still hoping that maybe not enough hormones were produced. I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing. I think if I still haven't gotten my period next week, I'll try getting a blood test done. I don't live in the Netherlands but abroad, so I had a very cheap test for about 2 euros. Here, they can also check through a blood test. What do you all think? Should I try getting a blood test next week if I still haven't gotten my period? -

I’d test again at home with first morning urine. This weekend or Monday.
If it’s negative, I’d move forward. -

I was mostly just tired. The other symptoms only came later.
Some MS-like cramps..
But I have/had a kind of sixth sense for pregnancy in myself.
This might sound weird now, but for us it wasn't easy either. I got pregnant quickly, but I kept having miscarriages.
So this is actually my 5th pregnancy, I've had 4 miscarriages. But every time I just knew I was pregnant.
About 1 or 2 days before my period, that feeling hit me. I went to test, and it was always positive.
With this pregnancy, I was in my car on the way home after working a morning shift. I parked in front of my house, and the moment I stopped the car, I got that feeling.
I hadn't drunk much and barely had time to go to the toilet. So I went straight home because I really had to go urgently. And sure enough, positive. ..
I hope you test positive now too. You've been trying for 3 years, everything's fine, and now you're overdue with a regular cycle... I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you

Hi poesh,
Thanks for the info... hopefully you'll be able to hold your healthy baby soon..!!
I don't know anymore, sigh... I just wiped and got a light pink/brown streak but no signs of infection yet and still have regular urges to go to the toilet. Could it be related to implantation? My last period was on September 13th and I have a regular cycle of 25/26 days...
I know I need to be patient, I hope it doesn't continue like this. Normally I get a lot of bright red blood right away when I wipe, but not this time. My mind is full of thoughts and I'm doubting whether I am or am not pregnant... waiting is really hard if it doesn't progress. I'll test on Tuesday but I can't sit still, it feels like it's taking way too long. -
Poesh #53
It could indeed be from implantation. The only thing you can do is wait and see.
Keep yourself busy, then the days will pass a bit quicker. And definitely keep me updated. -

Hi ladies..
I still haven't bought a test because I still had some brown discharge last night... my cycle is always so different, I don't get it at all. Anyway, I'll just assume from now on that I've gotten my period, even though it's very different from normal and much lighter than usual, with no painful symptoms etc.. If it were implantation, the brown discharge wouldn't last that long, right? -
Poesh #55
Hmm, just brown discharge isn't a period. I'd keep an eye on whether it comes or not.
If it stays brown, I'd take another test.
Are you 100% sure about your ovulation? Did you use an ovulation test or something? -
madelene #56
Sarah, just to answer your question quickly:
I didn't have any real symptoms with my first one.
But I did have a feeling that was different than usual regarding my period coming.
Normally I could feel my period was about to start, but then it felt completely different and like it wasn't going to come.
And that turned out to be true, I tested positive on day 5 past due.
With my second pregnancy it was very different, I had all that I had 4 days before my period would normally have come.
Severe hunger that kept persisting, I kept eating and shortly after eating I was hungry again. And in between also slightly dizzy.
I was sure, I was pregnant again.
So I tested 1 day past due with a Predictor, negative test.
I found it very strange because I was sure I was pregnant, tested with the pharmacy brand the next day and immediately clearly positive.
With this third pregnancy it went differently again, I noticed absolutely nothing that I was pregnant.
No sign at all.
Only when my period didn't come on day 32 of my cycle, so about 4 days past due, I tested and it was positive.
So that's how it went for me
Greetings, Madelene -

It could still happen, Sarah.
Hopefully, it doesn't progress to actual bleeding for you.
I hope you get clarity soon. -

The bleeding didn't continue; I had some brown discharge for another half day, mixed with maybe 2 cm of dark red, and now it's stopped again. I think I'll wait a bit this week before taking a test... I'm shocked. I didn't do an ovulation test, but if I compare all the symptoms and other things, this time it's a huge difference. No stomach cramps, fever, or back pain, which I usually have, and still going to the toilet regularly. How long can it take for an egg to implant, and how much could you lose then? I mean, Monday I used one period pad, max 1.5 of that brown discharge... -
Poesh #59
Oh, implantation bleeding can last a long time. Some people have a bit of spotting at 6 weeks, and the gynecologist also says it's still implantation.
It's harder to say how much you can lose. But a period can never just be brown...
I once had a few cycles with only some brown discharge, and then the gynecologist said I just didn't ovulate and my body was shedding a little bit of uterine lining because my cycle was too long. This was after a miscarriage though...
It's tough stuff, right. I'd test again first thing tomorrow morning. Then you'll know, and if it's still negative, I'd call your gynecologist. You're already overdue anyway, right? -

Sometimes it's enough to drive you crazy... I went to the hospital 2 weeks ago for an exam to see why I wasn't getting pregnant. She said I had one egg in my left fallopian tube measuring 15 mm, and in the right side, there were also eggs visible but they were super small. She told me to come back when I was ovulating so she could examine further, so last Wednesday... But since I was overdue, I didn't make another appointment. It frustrates me enormously on one hand, but on the other hand, I still have hope that it might still happen. Those 1.5 days when I had this, I didn't have any pain. I'll test again tomorrow morning. You're right.
