I’ve had various symptoms for the past 2.5 weeks that I didn’t recognize as normal period symptoms. Really gurgling intestines and a bloated belly, then after a week, extremely sore breasts, suddenly all these bumps on my nipples, and occasionally my husband’s head getting really bitten...

After wondering for so long... could it really be true???.... my suspicion was finally confirmed yesterday.
I’m pregnant with my first baby!!
Although I expected to be happy, the first emotion that came over me was actually tension and stress. What a lot is going to change for us, right!
My due date is around October 10th.
I hope to meet other ladies who are also newly pregnant to share a bit of what’s going on from time to time.
I’m having quite a bit of trouble with my intestines and therefore stomach pain... and you start wondering if that’s normal, right...
Well... I’m really curious about the responses!

    jootje, congratulations!
We're also going for our first baby.
This message reminded me of those symptoms.
We've been off the pill for two weeks now,
and for the past two days I've also had a bloated belly and gurgling intestines.
But I don't know if it's from coming off the pill or if I could be pregnant.
    I'm too scared to test.
    Haha

    Hi Jootje,
A big congratulations! Exciting times for you both! I'm a bit further along myself, but I totally relate to the gut discomfort! I had a lot of stomach pain and was really worried! I even ended up at the doctor's emergency clinic because of the pain! Everything turned out fine, but due to the pregnancy, my intestines were all upset, which caused the pain!
The doctor's advice was to eat light, easily digestible food, and if the discomfort was severe, stick to liquid food, drink lots of water and tea! The medications I would've needed, of course, I couldn't take! This helped me a lot and brought some peace to my stomach! Not sure if you have a hot water bottle or a heating pad, but that helps too!

    Enjoy your pregnancy!
    Love, Lynn

    Hi Lady,
I remember when I stopped the pill, I also had huge hormone swings and suffered a lot from that. I don’t remember having a bloated, bubbling stomach, so who knows ;-)

    Hi Lynn!
Thanks for your sweet message. How far along are you now?
I’m trying not to worry too much about the cramps because I’m pretty sure it’s my intestines. I’ve also decided today to let things be (my only addiction) and eat cola and really fatty, heavy stuff. I hope it’ll bring some relief because I’m also sleeping poorly because of it. And somewhere in the back of my mind, you just keep worrying. I’m still in the danger zone, so I’m hoping so desperately that I don’t miscarry!!!!
What does your diet look like, if I may ask?
    Love,
    Jootje

    Hey girl,

I don't have a diet, mind you! But when I have trouble with my stomach/intestines, I do try to pay a bit more attention to what I eat! No fries, pizza or the like! I'll have crackers, low-fat yogurt with muesli and soup or something like that for a day... usually it settles down then. I'm very sensitive to that and I still have quite a bit of stomach pain now! Mostly at night, so I get up because I can't sleep from it!
But yeah... I guess it's just part of me! I understand you're worried and happy when you're out of the danger zone! I was too back then!!! I'm 22 weeks now so it's speeding up! Hope your first ultrasound brings some peace! When do you have it?

Good luck and just enjoy, girl!

    Love

    Hey hey,

22 weeks already feels like a long time, doesn't it.

I only registered with the midwife last night. Got an email today, but the appointment is scheduled exactly during the week I'm on vacation. So I'm waiting for them to send another message or call me to reschedule.
It was originally planned for Feb 25th, so it'll be either the week before or the week after. Since I'll only be around 7.5 weeks pregnant the week before, I think they'll suggest doing it the week after.
    But I'll keep you posted!

    Love,
    Jootje

    Congratulations!!
With my first, I was pregnant right away, and when the test was positive, I got nervous too... Happy!! But at the same time, I had the question, do I really want this?, and can I actually handle it?!
That feeling lasted about 2 days, and from that moment on, it was just enjoyment :-)
Having digestive issues is part of it (unfortunately).
I'm now pregnant with my second and I'm having them again too (though less than with the first).

    Enjoy your big-belly time!!

    Hey hey,

Wow, the past few days have been quite a rollercoaster. What a shock it was, really. Even though we were consciously trying to conceive, I never expected it to happen so quickly.

We’ve told my parents, his parents, and our brothers. For now, we’re keeping it quiet until the midwife gives us the green light ;-)

I’ve adjusted my diet a bit, so the cramps are a bit less intense, but still pretty strong. Yesterday I even had period-like pain for the first time, which startled me a bit. But my colleague said it’s all part of the process (she’s pregnant too, so it’s nice to have someone to share this with!!).

I’ve finally found some peace and quiet, so I’ve had the space to enjoy this. I’ve been walking around with a big smile all evening. I’m really looking forward to the coming period, whatever it brings.

I’ve got an appointment with the doctor on March 6th, so I’m really curious!!

    How are you doing?

    Love,
    Jootje

    Thank you!!!
You're already a lot further along, aren't you! Just like Lynn!

    Hi everyone,

Next Saturday, March 1st, is my expected period, but I tested yesterday and the day before and got a positive result right away, though it was a faint line! I feel really tired, have a bubbling stomach, and my back hurts too. I keep worrying that something might go wrong. I know I still have two days to wait, but what are your experiences?

    Hi ladies,

Quick question: I’m also having a bubbly tummy and I’m exactly a week overdue today. We really want a baby. I did have a little bit of bleeding before my period was supposed to start, but it hasn’t progressed into a full period. I’ve taken 3 tests so far, unfortunately all negative.

I hope I’m pregnant, but I’ll call the doctor tomorrow.

Congratulations to you all on your pregnancies :-)

Do you have any advice for me?

    Thanks in advance.

    Love, Marielle

Congratulations! I'm also 7 weeks and 2 days pregnant.
    Due date is October 9th.
Exciting times ahead, heading to the UK on March 2nd.
Have you already booked your appointment?
    Love, Thea

Wow, congratulations.. I'm in a waiting period myself. I should get my period on Monday. But I've had symptoms for 2 weeks now, like I'm about to get my period – weird feeling in my lower belly and bloated. Sometimes it goes away during the day and comes back in the evening. I've never been on the pill before. And now my boyfriend and I had intercourse during the most fertile days. But I'm so curious. I took a test today even though I should get my period on Monday. So it was negative, obviously. Can someone tell me if my feeling might be right that I'm pregnant? Greetings..

    Hi ladies,

Last Sunday, my partner and I were pleasantly surprised to find out that we’re expecting our first baby. It wasn’t planned, but it’s definitely welcome. As far as we can tell right now, along with the midwife, I’m 5-6 weeks pregnant.

Like many of you here, I’m really struggling with gurgly intestines. It feels like I’m hungry, but when I do eat something, I have no appetite at all and actually feel nauseous. It’s really confusing. It’s also accompanied by a lack of taste in my mouth, and I sometimes don’t know what to eat or drink anymore.

On top of that, I’ve been really tired lately and have been getting emotional for the past few days.

When you list it all out, it sounds like I’m just complaining and not happy about it, but right now, I can’t think of anything nicer!

We have our first appointment with the midwife on December 29th, and I’m looking forward to hearing what we’ll be told then.

    Best, Natascha

    Hi everyone,

New here since today, already liking it!
Today is 1 week before my EDD. Since today I've been having a gurgling, bloated belly (holding it in is painful). I also have small white bumps on my nipples. (Not sensitive otherwise)
I'm not really tired, but I do feel like sitting on the couch all day.
And with food too, at one moment nauseous, no appetite. And at another moment, really craving a lot of food..

I hope I'm pregnant, my EDD is December 25th. Any other women who recognize themselves in my story and are, or are not pregnant...?

Gall, the easiest way is to join "Nod December," that's where your fellow expectant parents are!
  18. Marieke #19

Natascha, congratulations on the lovely news! Bubbling intestines are quite common, that sounds familiar. Gall, Marc is right. Please sign up in the December thread; your group is already waiting for you there. Your symptoms fit in well. Enjoy!
