Already constipated?

Hi ladies

I'm only 5-6 weeks along, but I've been dealing with a lot of constipation.... I always thought that only happened later in pregnancy. Has anyone here experienced this? (Kiwi's, lots of water, and even Forlax aren't helping enough)?

Am I just really early, or is it a coincidence? Has anyone here had this experience?

Thanks, Didoda

Hi Didoda, I don't think it's weird to have this so early on. I definitely had it too. For me, it comes and goes, and it's still happening now. I can't really give you any tips, nothing helped me either. It's sometimes really tough, especially now that I'm further along—it's more painful. Anyway, congratulations on your pregnancy, and hopefully, you'll find a way to ease the constipation soon. Love,

It's indeed part of the hormonal changes in your body. It's very important to drink plenty of water, flaxseed (ground) and flaxseed oil also work really well, and when going to the toilet you shouldn't strain too hard (to prevent hemorrhoids) and sit upright on the toilet (even tilt your pelvis slightly forward) so don't slouch on the toilet. It will get better, I promise, but it's part of the physical changes If this all doesn't help, you can always take a little lactulose, it's not absorbed by the body and therefore not harmful to the baby.
    Get well soon!

    Hi Didoda,
I’ve been using Zonnatura tea for easy bowel movements and it really helps.
The tea tastes okay and works the same day. Maybe worth trying out?

    Best,
    Maya

I'm 9 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing symptoms for a few weeks now. I've followed the tips from the obstetrician: drinking apple juice, eating fruit, nuts, raisins, and bride's bread. I can now go to the bathroom more easily, thank goodness.

I'm at 23 weeks now, but honestly, I've had it from the start. Some days it's fine, other days it's not, but it can really hurt if you can't make it to the toilet. Kiwi and lukewarm water in the morning, and movement is super important, but it doesn't help me either, hihi...

I have this problem too! I drink Roosvischee lax, it helps me a lot! Just buy it in the supermarket with the other Roosvischee teas.

I've got it too. Not pleasant. It does change a bit. But what I do is drink lots of water. If I can't go, I drink orange juice with a spoonful of olive oil and that works. Then I drink that for a few days and you don't taste it. Also dried plums and lots of fruit. And then I hope I can go hihihi.
