Forum 2nd trimester

Scared

I'm currently in my second trimester, about 18 weeks pregnant, and I'm just so scared for the last few weeks. Absolutely terrified of a premature birth or stillbirth. Does anyone relate to this?

I have no reason to be afraid, but these thoughts are dominating my mind right now.

Stress isn't good for the baby. Try to focus on something else. Good luck and stay strong.

Hi! I totally get it. I was really scared during my pregnancy too. It got a little better after the reassuring 20-week scan, and for the last two months I wasn’t so scared anymore.
Maybe you can talk to your GP, friend, partner, colleague... I told my partner I was scared and he often reassured me. If he couldn’t, I’d call a friend, and sometimes I’d ask my GP for advice.
My little one is almost 1 year old now :-)
Try to enjoy your pregnancy, because I (unfortunately) didn’t do that enough.
    Everything will be okay!

Thank you, Tiny, for your understanding and for sharing your story. This is also my second child. With the first one, it felt much more extreme to me. Next week, I’ll be informing the midwife during the ultrasound. My husband and parents are already aware.
