Pregnancy tests, ovulation and ovulation tests

Hi everyone!
I'm a mom of 3 kids ????
We really want another little miracle.
I'm currently using ovulation tests.
Got my period on July 6th.
But so far, I haven't had a positive ovulation test, at least not how it feels to me..
So I need some advice and info on what I can expect..
Today's test had the darkest line, but the digital display says negative.
I do have a lot of mucus though (sorry if that sounds a bit gross).
