Heavy bleeding at 12 weeks

Hey everyone,

Last night I had to go to the hospital due to heavy bleeding and stabbing pains in my lower abdomen.

With great joy I can say that the baby was/is okay. However, there was something wrong with my placenta; it was positioned very low, and there was a kind of clot between the placenta and the uterine wall. That was the culprit.

The gynecologist told me to take it easy, not to move too intensely, etc. She said it could still end in a miscarriage... but you'll find out soon enough.

So I'm currently enjoying some time off work to recover from the shock.

However, my midwife said that everything is fine and good, and nothing else needs to be done about it.

I find it a bit confusing... it was terrifying, and I'm still quite shaken up.

Does anyone here have experience with this, and what did you do? Did it turn out okay in the end?

I know someone who had that too. Because the placenta was blocking the exit, she had bleeding. She really had to do nothing for a while. Even going for a walk made her start spotting. Eventually, the placenta moved away from the exit, and she no longer had any issues. She ended up having a perfectly healthy baby.

Thank you so much, mom! That puts my mind at ease!
