Our unborn baby has a growth restriction...

Hi everyone.
On January 29th I had a check-up with the gynecologist and it turned out that our unborn baby has a growth delay of 2 weeks.. I am now 27w3d and our girl is at 25w3d..
In the coming period we have 2 growth ultrasounds scheduled, at 29 and 31 weeks.. I'm quite worried and would really like to know if there are any other ladies here who have gone through this and had their baby right on track at the next growth scan..

Estimated length and weight of our girl is 712 grams and 34 cm at 27 weeks..

Hi Marie! Don't worry, ours would have been way too big. I was already in the dumps because I thought we'd be having a giant instead of a sweet little girl. Had an extra growth ultrasound, and it turned out to be a normal-sized baby!

My daughter also had a growth delay, but she had a normal weight, maybe a bit smaller than average but not extreme. My son was neatly on average but weighed almost 5kg at birth. If everything else is fine, I wouldn't worry

Oh, that's really not bad at all. It only becomes concerning if your baby is 4 weeks ahead or behind the average. That's not the case with you.

    Don't worry.

As they mentioned above, it's often just an indication and doesn't necessarily mean anything. It's also often just a snapshot in time.
My cousin was supposed to be 2 weeks ahead.. And was estimated at around 3800 grams at 38 weeks.. He was born at exactly 40 weeks and weighed only 3320 grams.
