maternity leave and then what?

Hi everyone,
I'm wondering what kind of leave I could still take:
I work in education. Let's say I give birth at the end of January. Then I'm entitled to 4 months of leave. This means I'd have to return to work a bit less than 8 weeks before the summer vacation.
Can I take a leave system until just before the summer break? If so, what kind of leave? How does this affect my salary?
Thanks!

Maybe parental leave, but that's a question for your employer if you can't find it in your collective labor agreement.

I work in education too, as a primary school teacher.
After giving birth, I took a month of paid parental leave...and I work full-time. Parental leave is half-paid by your employer...after that, I took some more parental leave, one afternoon per week for a while...and then you're entitled to unpaid parental leave...you give up some hours...you don't get paid for them...but you keep your contract for those hours.
Check the collective labor agreement (CAO) carefully. And I had my employer calculate everything for me, just through HR.
    Enjoy your leave!
