Working from home from 28 weeks?

Hi!

I work in education in the Netherlands. Due to Corona, the advice here is to work from home or in small groups at school from 28 weeks. I'm not really keen on that. I'm feeling really good so far. And I'd rather not let my group 8 down even earlier. (Big sense of responsibility :angel In principle, my leave would start at 35 weeks, and April 1 is my last working day. Now I'd have to start working from home on February 14.

I'd prefer to keep working, but is it safe enough? Or would it be a foolish decision? Especially the British Corona variant is making me doubt. Has anyone here had Corona in their third trimester? How did it go?

I'm looking forward to your responses.

Hi MJB, congratulations on your pregnancy! I'm pregnant too, and you're two weeks ahead of me!

I don't think this post will help. The advice is there for a reason, so if you don't follow it, you're still taking a risk. And with Corona, they don't know much about pregnancy yet—it doesn't seem to affect the baby. But it's more about you. Your body is already under a lot of stress, and your lungs have to work harder with that big belly. One person might just get a cold and that's it, while another ends up in the hospital. No one can tell you what will happen to you if you get infected. A positive story from someone here might convince you to keep working, but you could also get it really bad. I'd just follow the advice, but take full responsibility for your baby. The British variant apparently isn't as dangerous in schools as thought, I read on nu.nl.

    Hi Shanna,
Congratulations to you too on your pregnancy. It's a beautiful time. For me, it's my third pregnancy and the best so far thanks to the calmness brought by Corona...
You're right about what you're saying. I actually hope to hear positive stories here so that I can keep working for a while longer. But it's true, every pregnancy and every case of Corona is different. Why take unnecessary risks... But since I feel so fit and want to take responsibility for the kids in my class, I'd really prefer to keep working.
What's your job? Do you have to keep working too?

I'd go to zwangerschaps pagina .nl with your question.
    I'd follow the advice. Unfortunately.

I've been working from home since day 1 and I'll keep doing so until 39 weeks
I'm totally fine with it! It's truly blissful working at the pace of my pregnancy.
