Feeling guilty about eating habits
KatheGuest ·
Hi ladies
I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant and have been feeling nauseous every day for the past few weeks. On top of that, I just have no appetite. It's a daily struggle to find something I can eat without my stomach turning. For now, my body mainly craves yogurt and fruit, which I eat regularly. Once I've had something, my stomach settles down a bit, and then I try to eat some bread with toppings too, just to get something in. Dry cookies also go down pretty well. But otherwise... I really can't handle hot meals. I tried this at first, but it was pure torture! I just couldn't swallow it. Luckily, I haven't had to vomit yet, so whatever I do get in, stays in.
Now I'm starting to feel guilty about this. I'm worried that I'm not getting enough good nutrients for my baby. I want to eat healthier and more varied—I was doing pretty well with that before my pregnancy—but my body is protesting. At first, I was okay with the idea: listen to your body and try to get in whatever works. But now I'm starting to worry more and more... I do take prenatal vitamins every day. But, well, that doesn't replace everything, obviously.
Anyone in a similar situation? How do you cope with it? And do you have any tips for eating a bit more during nausea?
