I'm 8 weeks pregnant now and I was wondering when you all had your first ultrasound?

    Hi ladies, maybe a silly question. But are those weeks counted from your last period, or from the moment of ovulation?

    From your last period.
    Me at 7 weeks and 4 days due to a previous miscarriage.

    First one at 14 weeks.
    Second one, no ultrasound.
    Third one at 9 weeks, unfortunately an empty gestational sac.
    Fourth one at 9 weeks, no heartbeat.
    Fifth miscarriage at week 5, different from the one at 6 weeks.
    Sixth one, end of week 5, beginning of week 6, and then again at 9 weeks, I think.
    Seventh one at 8/9 weeks.

    I just called today, and my appointment is set for Monday, so I’ll be 8 weeks and 4 days then.

    Did you do internal or external?
    I guess it varies from person to person, but I'm just curious????

    So early is often internal. At least that was the case for me both times.

    Internally, externally is unfortunately still so little to see at that stage. Usually, that's from around 10 or 11 weeks onwards.

    It depends on the practice whether they do an internal or external scan. I’ve never had an internal ultrasound, and for the first time, I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks and 3 days during my second pregnancy. For the first pregnancy, I think it was 8 weeks and a few days. For the third pregnancy, I went to a private practice at 6.5 weeks for an external scan. I could clearly see the baby and, thank goodness, the heartbeat. Midwifery practices often still have older equipment, but anyway. It’s really a wait-and-see thing

    First daughter at 7 weeks and 5 days
    Second daughter at exactly 8 weeks
    Now two lovely girls, almost 3 years old and 3 weeks old!

    Had the ultrasound and everything looked good and a beautiful beating heart!
    I'm over the moon!!!????

    I did have an external ultrasound at 7.5 weeks.
    This is my third baby now.
    But even with my first, I had an external ultrasound at 8 weeks with a nice beating heart.

    Two of them already had an ultrasound at 6 weeks (internal) due to bleeding, with a nice beating heart
