More than I can handle

Hi everyone,

I'm almost 24 weeks pregnant now. How harmful is it if you breathe in secondhand smoke outside just once?!

I've tried my best to avoid inhaling the smoke as much as possible, but it's obviously not always possible to avoid it completely.

I'm really worried about it and also feel guilty towards our baby.

Smelling it outside once or twice isn’t a big deal, but try to avoid it. It’s easier to handle outdoors since you can stand out of the wind. Avoiding smells indoors is trickier because you’re in a closed space. Don’t let the hormones get to you.

How harmful is it if you walk past a car with the engine running just once? People are exposed to exhaust fumes much more often, especially in cities. The effects are similar.
Don't let it get to you, stuff like this just happens when you're outside. It's okay. Enjoy your pregnancy
