She’s finally had some sperm inside her for the first time. Of course she’s got discharge then.

Sorry, but I think you’re both way too focused on this. Googling, symptoms, pains, veins, taste... just get a grip.

Take a deep breath in and out. Go enjoy the nice weather and wait and see. There’s nothing sensible to say right now. If we say it can’t happen, you’ll say “yes, but Google,” and if we say it can, you’ll ask “is it too early?” You trust your girlfriend but don’t believe the metallic taste, and you’re ready to give up on her if she’s not pregnant. Nice friend.

Give it a year, and hopefully you’ll be pregnant then, maybe even mom and dad.

And yes, she has those symptoms, whether she’s pregnant or not. You’re trying to conceive, and that comes with symptoms and thoughts.

Sorry, but I'm not really happy with that kind of language. Painting me as a worthless friend.

Apparently, men aren't welcome here. Maybe next time you should put that in the rules instead of pushing us all into a corner.
  3. stff48 #23

Everyone is welcome here and we give each other advice. Many of us have been trying for a long time or have been trying to get pregnant So indeed, our bodies can fake every symptom, no matter how crazy it sounds. A lot of discharge can even be a sign of a later ovulation. Why do you have little faith that it won't work out for you? Have you had any tests at the hospital yet? There are many options open to you if it doesn't work out on your own within a certain time. Think of IUI, for example. You're just starting out, but with IUI, ovulation is monitored down to the day, and the sperm is introduced at the perfect time. I got pregnant through IUI-D and was pregnant on the first try

Hi BS, I get that you find it stressful and it’s not nice to hear that many girls are quite down-to-earth about it, but the reality is that you often feel things because you want to feel them, since you want to be pregnant so badly.

The girls here mean well, but it is tough when you have a rebuttal for everything. You’re the one asking the questions (with or on behalf of your girlfriend), and you get responses based on the girls’ real experiences here. I don’t think you can expect more. I don’t think the intention is to cause arguments or make you feel unwelcome.

Anyway, good luck with getting pregnant, and the best advice from the girls here is to just stay relaxed about it all! Hopefully no Oscars later on!

Why do you call my fiancé a "nice friend"? Do you even know him? So why jump to the conclusion that he's not a nice friend?
Yes, we're dealing with a lot of this stuff. We're new to this process, and when you're new, you look for information in different ways. And yes, that information sometimes contradicts itself, but that actually leads to a healthy discussion. But it doesn't help to talk down about someone you don't know. My fiancé is doing everything he can (and I think so too) to get through this process.

Fire, moving on to the important part; how are you doing today? If you've just stopped the pill, your cycle can be quite messed up; pimples, nausea, more/weird discharge, irregular, etc. Unfortunately, that can last for a few weeks. But what are the things you're noticing right now, and are you sure when your egg was released? Lots of luck!
  7. Lijn #27

Yeah, this can also change without your girlfriend actually ending up pregnant. Personally, I was also fooled quite a bit by my own body.
I hope for you guys that it’s a hit, but I’d really try to worry less about it. There are indeed women who say they have early symptoms, even before conception. But if I can trust my gynecologist, that’s just really not possible. Since I’m not an expert, I believe what she says, even though sometimes you might read other stories.
I then wonder if these women don’t just have complaints related to ovulation and think it’s from an early pregnancy.

    Read my post again.

You two are contradicting each other and yourselves in both your topics. Funny, by the way, that you're both active here. Never seen that in all these years.

Sorry, but if my boyfriend/fiancé/husband told me to trust him and then didn't believe me about my iron taste. Putting that on a forum and saying in a dead serious way that he'd leave me for an Oscar because I'd be faking everything, I'd be done with it quickly. Nice friend you have there.

All the experienced moms here say they didn't fake it because their body is so involved and attentive. I've been pregnant 7 times myself. I know what it's like to really want it, to not get pregnant, to have 3 miscarriages and 4 successful pregnancies. I know what a body does. And can do. Especially with the slightest symptoms, I was pregnant. I think I might be pregnant now because I'm late, I have nausea, sore breasts—it only gets worse.

Ovulation tests. By the way, they give an indication and not the exact date. If you tested on the 26th, ovulation could still be up to 48 hours away.
  9. firefly #29

I haven't used the pill for over 10 years, so it's not about coming off the pill. We monitored both my temperature and did ovulation tests to be sure I was in my fertile window. We also saw my temperature drop by 0.4 degrees, about 24 hours after the positive ovulation test.

How do I feel now? I'm having waves of nausea, the metallic taste persists, and I'm also getting stabbing pains and cramps in my lower abdomen/groin area. Now you could indeed say these are period cramps, but I've never experienced cramps before my period before. So that's pretty weird. But I'll wait and see (still so longinch

The way you feel about your friend and how quickly someone dumps them says a lot too.

Anyway, counting the days until we can test.
  11. Bs1987 started this #31

    What are reliable tests now?
  12. Anonymous Guest #32

Sigh, good luck with your process.
  13. stff48 #33

Don't be too hard on this couple. Did we know how everything worked out at the beginning of our wish? I didn't, actually Everyone is free to ask questions, right... What are reliable tests? One says Action, the other Kruidvat... I'm more for Clear Blue tests... they're of course a lot more expensive, but you know exactly where you stand... and ultimately, the most reliable is just a blood test at the doctor's.
  14. Bs1987 started this #34

Took a few Clear Blue tests today. Now just have to be patient.

No new symptoms have shown up.

    Cramps
    Metallic taste
    Fatigue

    That's what she's dealing with.
  15. Most15 #35

    I agree with Anoniem.
BS asks for our opinion, we give it, and then this nice guy contradicts me because Google says something different.
I’d say, good luck with getting pregnant. Hopefully, you’ll give it time.

I have to admit that I find it very man-unfriendly here, while I'm only trying to live along and experience everything with them, but well.

A few more days until June 12th, the NOD.
    Nausea in waves
    Sore nipples
    Quickly exhausted.
    Often tired
    Metallic taste
  17. Lijn #37

I think the reactions from others aren't because you're a guy, but because the way you write probably comes across differently than what you mean. It's nice that you're involved with your girlfriend. She'll probably find that really nice. A few more days and then you'll know more. Good luck!!
  18. skybles #38

Honestly, I'm mainly replying because I'm so curious to see how it turns out!!

But Bs, I don't read any man-hating stuff and no weird language is being directed at you.

Hopefully, you'll get pregnant on the first try, that would be fantastic. I once had such clear symptoms 8 days after ovulation, and I tested positive back then too. Anything is possible.
But the more you focus on it, the more you feel and become aware of the crazy things your body does, regardless of whether you turn out to be pregnant or not.

I hope it works out for you. I know there's a thread about this somewhere too. It's quite quiet, but maybe you'll get some tips there as well.

But for now, it's just waiting. Ultimately, a test gives the answer. When are you planning to test?
  19. Anonymous Guest #39

Man, unfriendly? Haha do men have such tender souls when a woman talks to them?

Is this your first time on a forum? You've hit the jackpot here with very kind and gentle responses. On the Viva forum, you were "destroyed." Here, some people have a bit too much Mother Teresa vibe.

What's the difference between being quickly exhausted and just being tired?

If you're convinced you're pregnant and these symptoms are coming from that, you could easily take a test from Action or the 2-for-5 deal at Kruitvat. Those tests detect much lower hCG levels than CB tests.

I'm curious if you still think you're not really paying attention to it?
  20. Anonymous Guest #40

If I can offer some hope. I also felt those little twinges pretty quickly after ovulation. About 5 days after my expected ovulation, I think implantation happened. And I tested positive 3 days before my period. I’m now 9 weeks pregnant.
I also noticed it through my mood swings—I couldn’t stand being around people much.
