low hcg and slow rise

Last week on 1/04/20 I was one day overdue and had a positive pregnancy test. A blood test that day showed an HCG level of 97. Now, 5 days later on 6/04/20, the HCG is 121.
So HCG has risen, but not doubled.
Has anyone else here had similar experiences?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Alissa,

I don't have any experience with this myself. I tested positive 6 days ago. Today, just for fun, I did another test with the same brand and this one is much darker than the test from last week.
So my hCG is rising very rapidly. What does your GP or midwife say about it?

They're testing again on Wednesday at 5 weeks and the following week. By this Wednesday, it should be above 200. So exciting, phew.

Exciting! Keep us updated? I'm rooting for you.

Here’s an update: HCG is even lower now, 87. I just went to the gynecologist and I can be sure that I’ll have a miscarriage on one of these days. We’ll have to wait and see now..
The doctor did say that we should be happy that we got pregnant so quickly, as that’s a good sign. So now it’s just really bad luck..

That’s partly a comfort, Alissa, but it’s also really sad! Logically, you often know that’s how it should have been, but emotionally, it just works differently. So you’re allowed to be sad! Wishing you lots of strength!

Oh no, what a nasty message. Lots of strength

Oh no! Strength. Here last year it wasn't a good sign either.

Ilona and Puck, did you have pregnancy sickness with your miscarriage?
I'm only 5 weeks pregnant but I really feel awful: nauseous and extremely sore breasts. I can't sleep without a bra, so much pain I had a miscarriage a few years ago where I didn't have nearly as many symptoms as I do now.
With the pregnancies of my two kids, on the other hand, I did have symptoms.
I'm trying to stay hopeful everywhere, since I'm so early in my pregnancy and don't get an ultrasound until mid-May.

Thank you for your reply, Puck. I'm not giving up yet, but it's getting closer. Anyway, every day it's getting worse, the symptoms. I'm crossing my fingers too!

I was at the MK too. I had to throw up and felt incredibly nauseous. My breasts were sore too. And that despite having a really early MK at 4+3.. I tested positive 5 days before the expected date.
Each pregnancy is different. With my son, I had no symptoms at all at the beginning, just a bit of sore breasts. This time, though: nausea, vomiting, sore breasts, lower back pain.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that everything is okay

How can a woman's body be so weird, right? Did you start bleeding at 4+3? Or did you find out via an ultrasound?

I felt so pregnant. Tested positive at 9 dpo, and at 10 dpo even my digital CB showed 1-2 pregnant. The test line kept getting darker up to 12 dpo, and then faded back again. Never got a thick line, but I did clearly see the line getting darker in the first few days. Got an hcg blood test at 4 weeks, and it was 7. And you need more hcg to get a positive test, so I knew in combination with the fading lines that something wasn't right. So hcg was already dropping. By 16 dpo there was barely a line left on the test, and at 17 dpo (4 weeks + 3 days) I started bleeding. A bit more cramping and a bit more bleeding than a normal period. No clots or anything. After 2 weeks I also ovulated normally again.

Not nice, Ilona! I had a miscarriage at 6-7 weeks. I was really very sad! But I felt clearly less than what I feel now. It's and remains waiting, and that waiting will last a while. But since we're already at it: do you have any tips for nausea?

Other than always eating small bites, I don't have any tips. Actually, I was just really happy about it. During the day at work, I'd sneak a Mentos now and then when no one was looking, which helped a lot. The vomiting was mostly in the morning and evening. I don't enjoy throwing up, of course, but I was so glad it felt like it did with my daughter, so I was happy to put up with it. It gave me a kind of reassurance that everything was okay.

Small bites of food, indeed. Eating breakfast before getting out of bed.
It didn't help here either, so I was prescribed emese, which I took until week 15.
    Xx

That's a good one: Mentos! Mint also helps me a lot. But I'm secretly glad I have symptoms indeed.

Thanks for the tips ladies emasefene I also got with my daughter indeed. That helped.
