22 weeks pregnant, corona and work in healthcare

Hi everyone,

I'm not really sure what to do. I'm 22 weeks pregnant and work in healthcare as a doctor (in Brabant). On the one hand, I feel like I should go back to work, to help people and also my colleagues. On the other hand, I've got a little one growing inside me, and a toddler at home. There's really not much known about the risks for pregnant women and unborn babies when it comes to Corona. Pregnant women are more susceptible to everything than usual. Fever in mom is definitely not good for your little one.

Today I also read again that a huge portion of infected people are healthcare workers.

Besides that, I'm quite scared that if I say I'm not coming back, my workplace won't be a nice place to work in the future anymore.

Can you give me some sensible advice? What would you do?

I work as a nurse in Brabant and I'm almost 11 weeks pregnant. I've thought about this here and discussed it with other colleagues. However, I feel that if I were to stay home from work due to pregnancy and corona, I'd have to rule out all risks. So, no partner going out, no visitors, baby not going to daycare, etc. As far as we know, there are no consequences for pregnant women yet, but this is based on a small number of pregnant women and the number of months the virus has been around. We don't know the long-term consequences. It's all guesswork. I'm pretty level-headed myself. Of course, fever isn't good for the baby, but regular flu is also around now. I think you just have to be as careful as possible in your work/life and keep the risks as low/small as possible.
