Girls, I’ve been reading along too because I think it’s a pretty important topic right now when it comes to trying to conceive or being pregnant.
@zuss I find your explanation very clear!
I don’t really want to say too much about it, but I do think we should accept the choices of the mommies-to-be. It doesn’t make you good or bad. Who says you’ll conceive this month? It could still take a while...
Maybe that choice is easier to make if you’re already pregnant by then.
For now, I think the best thing is just to keep washing your hands, disinfecting, and avoiding unnecessary contact. I, for example, wear gloves at the supermarket.
    We can do this

Well, sis, it’s okay to be honest, but I find “total nonsense” pretty offensive. Glad it wasn’t meant that way.

Prematurity is often the result of an infection. And while premature babies shouldn’t get COVID, they do have a higher risk of brain bleeds, NEC, etc. We don’t yet know if the number of premature births with associated complications is increasing. We also don’t know how the virus affects things if the mother gets it before the third trimester, since those babies are (almost) not born yet. We just don’t know—that’s the only accurate statement right now.

The only thing I know for sure is that it’s all incredibly stressful. It’s really crap not getting enough check-ups, not being able to bring your partner to important appointments, and constantly worrying about your baby. I think that applies to everyone here. So maybe instead of attacking each other, we should support each other.

It's indeed not meant offensively, Puck. I'm glad we can be honest here, I like that.
Sorry for my word choice, "flauwe kul" does sound a bit blunt.

I understand your insecurity and tensions! Getting fewer check-ups gives you less control over the situation. As a pregnant woman, you naturally want to keep control, and unfortunately, you now have to let go of that, which is really tough!

It's stressful for every pregnant woman. I have a huge desire for children, so my husband and I decided together to continue with the trying-to-conceive process. Who says I'll get pregnant soon? I'm 32, still young, but not super young anymore, so my fertility is gradually decreasing. My mom, grandma, and aunts went through menopause around their 40s, so I keep that in mind too.

    We'll get through it all.
Anyway, I wish you a good pregnancy! Try to enjoy it, even though it's not always easy!
