Baby too small

Onzeker Guest ·
According to the calculation from the first day of my last period, I should be 7+4 weeks now. Had the first ultrasound yesterday; there was a heartbeat, but the fetus was too small for the number of weeks according to the midwife.. coming back in 2 weeks and hoping that it has grown by then or that I'm actually less pregnant than calculated..

maybe I should add that there were 2 gestational sacs still, but they were empty.. so it was a triplet pregnancy at a very early stage. Maybe that's affecting the growth of the surviving fetus?

No experience here with multiple gestational sacs, but I did have an ultrasound showing a beating little heart and a sac that was too small. It turned out things weren't okay in the end, and I had a miscarriage. I should mention that they also found the heartbeat to be slow. This means either the heart had just started beating and everything was fine, or it was already 'dying'. Unfortunately, in my case, it was the latter.

The only thing you can do is wait and hope for the best.

How many days were you pushed back? With this pregnancy, I was pushed back 4 to 5 days (6+5 instead of 7+3, I think). So it doesn't always mean it will end badly...
