Can't feel baby anymore

Hi everyone,

I'm now 20 weeks pregnant and haven't felt the baby since last week.

I first felt him between 15 and 16 weeks, and I've always clearly felt him or recognized it right away. Not every day, but regularly.

Last week, I also didn't feel him for 4 days, and then suddenly he was very clear and even for a long time. Now it's been 7 days again. I called my OB-GYN's reception, and they told me that this can be normal and not something I need to worry about right away... but if I'm still worried, I can come in for an ultrasound. But I have my 20-week ultrasound in a week, so I said I'd wait until then...

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a whole week in between? That would really put my mind at ease!

Hopefully, someone has more news for me!

Love,

I had this with my son too. He was turned and had his back against my belly. Apparently, you feel the kicks less then. Or maybe you were really busy and your mind was somewhere else? Then it can also happen that you feel absolutely nothing, but your brain filters it out.
If you're really worried, I'd still get an ultrasound. Better to check one time too many than too few. Too much stress isn't good for anything, right?
    Good luck!

Thanks for your reply! It's a relief to hear that it's possible.
I called my OB-GYN's office yesterday and they mentioned that this is quite common at 20 weeks. They offered to schedule an ultrasound, but since I have one in 6 days anyway, I'll just hold on until then.
I'm thinking about it less and less now and hope he's just positioned differently

    So relatable!
Little one was also lying in a different position, which made me feel him less.

Good luck with the 20-week ultrasound!

If you're worried and don't want to wait for the ultrasound, you can always make an appointment with an independent midwife in your area. She can listen to the heartbeat with a Doppler and check everything out all at once. This is also reimbursed by the health insurance.

    Thanks for the replies!
If anyone reading this has had this too, I can reassure you now.
9 days without any sign of the baby, but in the past few days, non-stop movement as soon as I lie down. Everything seems fine. My ultrasound is in 4 days

Sometimes it helps to lie on your left side for a while and then turn over. It can sometimes cause extra activity in the belly, so you can feel him.
